My husband invited me to a household account, I accepted but it’s wiped all my avios to zero. I now can’t use my amex 2 for 1, it states I do not have enough avios in my account which is just bizarre? I had 20k more than required, and combined we have x2 more than required yet still not enough? Is this a system error has anyone come across this? If he cancels and takes me off the household account, will I get my avios back??! Thanks in advance
Have you tried logging out and back in again?
There sre sometimes gremlins like this when someone joins a HHA and then tries to use the avios straight away
If that doesnt work then call BAEC
Yes I logged in and off multiple times. I just called BAEC and apparently they suspect suspicious activity and have locked my account?! I’m speaking to someone based in the India office, they have totally not understood what is happening and just locked my account and will “investigate”. Will not allow me to speak to anyone else. I now cannot make a booking for the foreseeable future, which means the reward flights I was looking at will most likely disappear by the time this is sorted
This exact thing happened to me last week. I was told it was a known issue and would be rectified within 24-48 hours. The agent could see the issue and was unable to make a phone booking either. It was very bad timing as I too wanted to use a 241 and it was in the day of the return of KL and BKK. Luckily the balance was restored in time for me to make the booking I wanted, but I was stressed for a few hours!
Hopefully yours will resolve soon too. If not, I’d give them another call.
Sadly the agents based in India have no clue what’s going on and have gone ahead and locked my account without my authorisation on the basis they think this has happened because my account was hacked. Bonkers
So frustrating. It’s such a lottery who you get through to. Hope you manage to get this resolved quickly. If you have status worth a call to the relevant line tomorrow?
