This is on for next two days. Anyone know how to find the participating properties? T&Cs talk about participating properties, but I can’t see a link.

I’m looking at the Cayman Island properties- Holiday Inn, Indigo & Kimpton

Not sure there is a list- T&C’s just say the below. Rates are however clearly flagged when searching, so just pop your dates in and check.

(“Promotional Rate.”) Promotional Rates are valid across participating properties in the US, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Middle East, Africa and Greater China. Members save 25% on bookings made between 18–19 November 2024 in the IHG App, for stays from 21 November 2024 – 30 April 2025, globally at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts. Members save 25% and Non-Members save 17% on bookings made across all eligible booking channels between 20 November — 3 December 2024, for stays from 23 November 2024 – 30 April 2025, globally at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts. One night minimum stay required.

I have several stays between now and the end of April, none of them show the discount never mind being cheaper.

@zebradome, if a property is participating it will normally show in the pricing when you search for your dates.

In the case of the Cayman hotels, by far the best value is to buy points when there’s a bonus offer on and use them to book, especially at peak periods. You can buy 70k points for $350 with a 100% bonus offer, which is the points cost of a night at the Kimpton, whereas cash prices are up to $1500 per night!

Remember you can only access the sale in the IHG app for now.

Anyway, at max 25% off don’t anticipate much. The Iberostar offer that’s going live in a few days will be much more interesting.

Just checked one of my bookings and I’d save £15/night but I value the flexibility of being able to cancel. The bookings under this offer are non refundable.

For anyone doing a mattress run before the year end this could save you a few quid.

When you click through from the email to the app, it pre-populates the rate type as “Sale”
I’m not going to check my booking as it’s not flexible, but I did look at somewhere I was thinking of booking and it has gone from £350 to £450 for one night! Could be because it’s now within a month of the dates I was looking at.

Thanks all. Yes, “Sale” is prepopulated but on the search results the 3 hotels are all labelled “Selected rate not available, lowest rate shown”. I guess they are not participating.

We’ve had many 70,000 point nights at the Kimpton including upgrades and free breakfast, so definitely had our money’s worth. I’ll look at the buy points offer instead of the sale.

Yes, I’m continually amazed at those rates! Also did 5 nights at the Indigo this summer for 250k points plus a suite upgrade award which was a steal. It’s a beautiful hotel, just a bit further away from the beach than the Kimpton is, if that makes a difference. It also seems to have gone to (slightly) dynamic award pricing as well, which I hope doesn’t bode badly for redemptions at Kimpton.

There were some better prices at hotels I was considering in Turkiye.
But as others have said this is a non refundable rate. I do need the flexibility at this point.

Actually, I should never have checked this, but my booking in Warsaw is about £14 per night cheaper, which is worth rebooking if simple.

My rate was non-refundable, but they didn’t actually take any money yet. Note in my booking states:

Cancellation Policy: Canceling your reservation after 6:03 PM (local hotel time) on xx September, 2024, or failing to arrive will result in forfeiture of your deposit. Taxes may apply.

Rate Description: Exclusive savings for our IHG One Rewards members. Full breakfast for 2 adults sharing a room. Reservations require full prepayment for the entire stay at time of booking and is non refundable. Payment is charged to credit card between the time of booking and day of arrival.

Do you think it’s safe to try cancelling? or do you think it might trigger them to take full paymemt?

If you “cancel” and rebook you will be on the hook for both the cancelled and rebooked reservations.

Contact the hotel and ask if they would consider dropping the rate
