I should be able to find and book Aegean flights and book them with Kris, right?
I’m getting this error when searching for anything from Athens and selecting Star Alliance.
Due to a system limitation, the flights for the origin and destination you have selected cannot be displayed. Please select another date/itinerary.

This was coming up for something as basic as ATH-MUC or ATH-FCO- for which the former at least I would presume it might even find some Lufthansa availability. I can’t find cash fares at all via Singapore.com either – it only recognises their “own” airports.

I’m hoping to not need it, but planning a backup, via Athens, in case I can’t get the BA flights I want directly to one of the Greek Islands when they get released.

ETA – solved my own problem. United site gives a better calendar view of availability. Found a date with some availability, then tried again via SIN and success. The error message from Singapore isn’t very good- it should tell me nothing is found for those dates, not imply that I can’t book online for those routes.

    Next problem- very limited availability!

Their website is pretty poor for partners as you’ve discovered ! But it’s normal not to be able to book other airlines for cash unless it’s connecting flight to one of theirs, most airlines are the same.

Their Europe flight rate is not good value so may not be worth it unless your miles are expiring especially if tax and fees are high (which Lufthansa usually is, not sure for Aegean)

Agree regarding the rate. UA had availability at 6000 pts + $20 (or something else reasonable) whereas Kris was going to be 14,000 + 40 Euros… Cash is actually better. I DO have some KRIS which will expire, but hopefully will get Avios flights that I need.

Yes if you have United points they’re potentially useful for Europe as they do not pass on surcharges

    Good luck with Avios!
