I am asking a lot of questions so sorry.
Flying MAN-LHR in Y and then connecting LGW-MRU in J. All one ticket, all Avios but there was no Business on the domestic due to availability.
What are the chances of accessing lounge in MAN? Policy suggests that it’s based on the long haul sector but I think this is usually when arriving long haul and then connecting short. This is the other way round… I can’t say lounge in MAN is a game changer but I’ll give it a go if I can..
I certainly got in when I flew AE, they gave me lounge vouchers to print when the ticket was issued.
BA should have the same policy, maybe…

Why would / should BA have the same policy as Mandarin Airlines?
Brain/finger disconnect, random vowel insertion. I meant EI.
Technically no, it changed a few years ago when BA introduced CE on domestic flights, so you are supposed to be flying in CE to get lounge access at MAN.
However, I have noticed, especially since Covid, the lounge staff often have little knowledge of the rules and will let anyone in with a BA BP! Before @JDB gets excited, I myself have never accessed any lounge under false pretences, however my OH went in front of me a few months ago and got in with a BA/blue/ET BP without me having to guest him!
YMMV.

This suggest you are entitled to access
Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight. You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.
When it was still the dedicated BA lounge they would turn people away with economy connections.
No harm in trying though, of course. Is the MRU flight the same day (which if it is, make sure you have a Plan B for any disruption 😬)?
