Forums Other Destination advice Marrakech luxury hotel options

  • 17 posts

I am looking at a 4 or 5 night stay in marrakech in March.

I am looking to book a luxurious hotel and wonder if anybody can comment on the AmanJena, four seasons or orebio hotels and how they found them?

On a side note, if anybody can comment on whether marrakech or Casablanca are better destinations it would be appreciated.

    Thanks

The FS is closest to the Medina.

Hiya. Maybe not one that you have looked at but it is lovely and peaceful and has a shuttle to the mayhem of the town is the Fairmont in Marrakech. We stayed there in January for a few nights.

Why not La Mamounia or Royal Mansour? Royal Mansour is especially lovely. There is also Mandarin Oriental.

Mamounia and Royal Mansour excellent but I personally like the Fairmont (except for their food, although the traditional restaraunt they have is quite nice).

There’s also a Nobu Hotel now, avoid Mandarin (on the flightpath!).

I am just back from a stay at the Fairmont (I might write up a review…) and with kids one of the ‘Prince Villas’ they have in the grounds is a great option. We were very happy with it.

It wasn’t a flawless stay from a service perspective though, and I would say the hotel is definitely a notch below what I would expect from Aman/Royal Mansour/Mamounia. However, if you value the space and privacy (and don’t mind a 25 minute drive to the Medina) it is worth considering.
