Forums Other Destination advice Marriot hotel options in Hong Kong with free breakfast

    Hi,

Does anyone know what’s the situation with free breakfast in Bonvoy hotels in Hong Kong? Officially I know only platinum elites get it in certain brands. However does anyone know of any that offer it to gold members? I’ve seen some comments on flyer talk about it but was looking for any recent experience.
I would ideally just book Hilton but they only have two unappealing hotels in the city.

    Thanks!

I think you’d be unwise to choose your hotel on the basis of an unpublished benefit of breakfast for Golds. Such hotel-specific gestures may be removed without notice at any time. Better perhaps to find the hotel that suits you best then see how much breakfast costs there versus eating elsewhere. I stayed at the JW Marriott Hong Kong and blew the budget on the breakfast buffet (vast and high quality) on day 1, then had hot drink and a pastry in the on-site café for around £8 the next day.

I see your point but I should have said I would have emailed the hotel to confirm the breakfast before booking ofc. How much was breakfast that you blew your budget on day 1 ?!

And I guess my point back to you would be just because a hotel said in reply to your email “We give breakfast to Golds” doesn’t mean they will honour it by the time you arrive. And you’d have no recourse.

    I think it was £45ish.
