We managed to get some reward flights to Mexico City after Christmas and into January 2025. We would definitely like to visit Oaxaca city, the restaurants there look incredible.
I was wondering if there were some recommendations for the coast, I would like to get some surfing – Puerto Escondido looks nice but off put by mentions it is becoming the Pacific Tulum. Huatulco also looks good also but travelling there seems harder than the bus on the new super highway.
@JDB thanks for all the comments about Zihuatanejo and Troncones, these are tempting options as well.In short just trying to find a reasonable route around without having to fly too much, or have one-way hire car trips.
Would really welcome feedback from anyone who has done something similar recently!
The surf vibe at Puerto Escondido really was very good.
