Used my international credit at Drouant in Paris on Thursday.
Good points – VERY classic archetypal French bistro, English menus available, few tourists and lots of local business types, close to InterCon Le Grand / Kimpton / Hyatt Vendome / Opera
Bad points – my wife wasn’t too happy with her meal (mine was OK) but I would recommend for the atmosphere and professionalism, expensive so if you want a totally free meal you’ll be stuck with two courses and a class of wine each
Back from Berlin, used my credit at
– Bocca – starters were good, the pasta was harder than I expected, and the desserts were quite large portions. BUT Amex credit did not pay out, after one week of waiting I am chasing it now. First was told it wasn’t on the list, then it appears the restaurant is submitting the charges using a different address. I suggest not going here for credit purposes. Will report back.
– 893 Ryotei – food was great, the place is a bit unexpected, lets just say where the Uber dropped you off is the right place. If the booking site says there is no places, email them, you might be able to get a seat at the bar. The credit was paid out very quickly.Morning. About to make reservation for sushi samba in London but they want to charge £20pp deposit ( and take it off balance of the actual meal ) does anyone know if their payment system will trigger the platinum dining credit? Thanks

No it won’t. Its classed as an online purchase so dosnt qualify under the amex T&Cs. Recently had the same issue where a resturant in London wanted 50 pounds pp deposit to secure booking. Moreover I cancelled the booking after reading the T&Cs and calling Amex to check.

Thank you Kiley – suspected that might be the case

Got an email notification the next day about redeeming dining credit – but so far no actual credit.
Also thought I would miss out on the Movenpick cafe as we were flying from Brandenburg terminal 2 – but managed to find a way through – although it’s quite a long walk.
I’m off to Roka for their brunch in a few weeks to use my £150 credit, should be decent.
Anyone got any Paris tips for the credit – would
ideally like to do lunch and dinner with the £150 if possible?Could anyone give a recommendation for Singapore based on first hand experience. Having taken a quick look I’m tempted to use it in Tiffin (Raffles) but welcome any advice. Haven’t been to Singapore before and am more keen to eat in the hawker markets tbh as we both ike street food and seems there is lots in sgp, but won’t get another chance to use the abroad dining credit until nov/dec so considering using it in sgp. Thanks

The afternoon tea in the Raffles Lobby I would recommend – that’s where I’ll be using the remainder of my credit later in the year.

We were there last November and used dining credit in tiffin room. Had the tiffin box set meal. Slightly underwhelmed with the food and sterile service. I found the curry we had in a restaurant called Mustard in little India tastier! However, Raffles was fantastic to visit and still a great experience.
Breakfast at Raffles is amazing too. We literally had to book it before we even left the U.K. gorgeous garden to take an extra coffee out to as well. It is expensive, but unusual. Not something you experience that often!
Looks like Hong Kong will be my only overseas option to use this next year, well that or BLT Steak in Honolulu. We are only in Hong Kong for two nights, staying at the Conrad. Any recommendations?

Transaction details on the original transaction and credit say BOCCA DI BACCO, FRIEDRICHSTR 167-168, BERLIN, 10117
Anyone have any experience/success of using a UK plat card in sgp on the below offers? It seems you just need to show you card to avail the discount, but handily a couple of the restaurants are also on the UK dining abroad…can’t believe it’s that easy…

Thanks @ukdw, mine has not come through and customer service claims it will take them 10 days to work it out.
Dined at Do & Co Restaurant opposite St Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna. £150 duly credited 3 days later. Quality is world apart from what they supply to BA. Beautiful venue/views as well.
Just got my credit from eating out at the Ivy in Birmingham (closest to me) after just a week. Anyone know if there are any eateries in Gibraltar? I can’t see any listed under UK or Spain settings on the location page!
Used my DineAbroad in Brisbane at Stanley and Greca. Interestingly we had one bill which was drinks only at Greca. That hasn’t credited but the food bill has. I wonder if drinks only bills are excluded (to be fair the T&Cs for the Dine Abroad do say credit towards Meals).
Any recommendations for Vienna please? I’ve spotted the one for Do & co.
Interested in any cuisine but I’m mainly going for the cake 😬Presumably you already have Sacher-Torte on your list for cake. Strandcafe if you are meat eaters followed by a walk along the river also delightful.
Ivy Asia St Paul’s is on the list but the other two Ivy Asia restaurants aren’t. I imagine I have answered my own question, but I assume I won’t get the credit at either of the others? [Am aware I could always purchase a gift card at a participating branch first]
Thanks to all those who recommended somewhere for my birthday lunch on Sunday. We opted for Kahani* and it was superb. Four of us opted for the a la carte menu and had soft shell crab and puris along with a range of mains. Two lovely bottles of Pouilly Fume. Service was most excellent. Food was beautifully presented and the flavours were stunning. £375 inc service charge.
*We also found Cote’s pop-up on the square just a few hundred yards away. Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. A delightful afternoon.
