Was just looking casually at how much LHR to TOKYO would cost. I have the BA AMEX Premium Plus credit card since February and have got the companion 241 voucher.
Ideally would like to book premium economy and then use the avios to upgrade to business (maybe one way or both ways, still tbc)
However looks like it costs around 140k for normal economy on random off peak days in October 2024. Is this normal? I only have around 98/99k points so far, so looks like my idea may be out the window?!!

If you’ve got the companion voucher you only pay the avios for one person. You can’t use it on a “book and upgrade” booking, though.

AH I see. Probably better to increase my avios points and then book something business class, and use the companion voucher? (In terms of getting the best value)
Are you still wanting TYO? A closer destination would need fewer avios.
