Thinking of flying Air France LHR to Miami, via CDG

We’d have a 4hr layover at CDG – if flying AF Premium (aka Virgin UC) would we get lounge access?

Premium economy or business class? If the latter then yes, you would have access to the AF business class lounge, if the former then no, not unless you have Skyteam status.

Yes, it would be Business

Saves £300 in fees/tax doing it this way (LHR-CDG-MIA on Air France) compared to Virgin direct LHR-MIA

Unsure if the early flight out of LHR and the wait in CDG is worth £300 though

4hrs is nothing. I had 5.5hrs transfer at CDG at Hall L (a boring long rectangle) albeit in the lounge. I locked valuables away and had a nap then freshened up before the onward long haul flight. The time skips by and you’ll be glad if that £300 in your pocket later.

Decided to book LHR-MIA direct with Virgin

But booked Premium instead of UC and saved £500 in fees.

Also, as total points 55,000 I didn’t bother using my voucher and will save it for a long haul return instead of this one-way.
