So I have just got over the £6k spend and have received the 40000 points into my account almost straight away
What happens with the £400 travel credit?
Has this got to be used in one booking or can it be used like the dining credit?
It’s a flight / car hire / hotel credit.
One transaction.
Read the small print very carefully.
Thanks I will. Is there something specific to be wary of?
No refund of voucher even if underlying transaction cancelled.
You may struggle to get a genuine deal from Amex Travel – eg hotel pricing can be well off if you have a ‘member rate’ and elite benefits (eg free breakfast) to compare.
I was hoping to use my last one for some domestic Turkey flights but Amex would only offer me fully flex (£200) whilst the Turkish Airlines website had £50 non-refundable tickets.
Can you use the credit for a FHR booking?
Is Amex travel a lot more expensive for booking flights than normal ones (from BA or Virgin)? Sounds bad with that Turkish example. I was thinking I would try and use it for a hotel stay in India, or for buying the flights to India, but wondering if there a way to genuinely save £400 ?
