Potential downgrade on Iberia with BA 241 ticket

It seems likely that I will be affected by a downgrade, too, and wonder if I need to document anything at this point of time?

Flight is IB6317 MAD to SJO 30/01/24. We had seats 1E&G, but they have now disappeared from our booking. ExpertFlyer Seat Alerts does not show business class at all. Iberia still sells business class on the flight, but does not show seat selection. The day before or after still show the seat selection.

Do these symptoms look like Iberia is already overbooking the flight?

Do I need to capture anything now for future claims?

I assume CEDR is no option for this case as it is on Iberia, starting in MAD?

Can you go into the seat map on your booking? I would have thought this far out an equipment change might be more likely than a downgrade.

You have EU261 rights in the event that you are downgraded, but you are correct that it would be difficult to pursue from the U.K. There are people on this forum who have successfully claimed for this kind of thing from Iberia (and TAP, etc), so if this does happen, post again and they should be able to share their experiences.

The seat map is not available via any route for business class – not in my booking, not on booking Iberia, not on expertflyer… The other leg has the seat map available on all routes. It does not look like equipment change as the economy seat map is available. The plane’s next flight back to MAD also has the seat map available.

I’ll keep an eye out to see what happens.
