Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Qatar Avios reward flights

I wonder if anyone has any advice for me. I have booked a one-way EDI-AKL business reward with Avios using Qatar, no issues booking 360 days in advance. However, I am now looking for the return one-way BNE-EDI and find that there hasn’t been any updates to the reward releases for the last few days to the point where the latest availability (in any cabin) is showing as the 24th October. Getting a little worried that Qatar have either something in the pipeline or they are not releasing rewards in the same manner as they have previously.

    Any help or suggestions appreciated.

    Hi @RewardHunter
Like you, if I’m heading east using Avios I choose Qatar from EDI. I have booked with them twice within the last 18 months to go to ICN and found different scenarios. For the first booking there were no redemption seats available for a long time then lots suddenly appeared and it’s only because of a comment on HfP that I’d realised they’d opened up.
Second booking was easier as redemptions were just sitting there waiting to be booked. I have found that you just have to be patient but keep an eye on other One World sites for their seats to open too. I hope you get lucky soon.

There is usually Avios availability on all flights +360 at least in economy. It appears that nothing has been released past the 24th October 2025. I have checked cash fares now and I see these are the same. Is this possibly down to a timetable swap (Winter -> Summer)?

    Isn’t that school holidays period?

Yes, it will be autumn half term next year. So possibly all being snapped up as soon as they’re released, or at least the DOH sectors. Have you searched each leg individually?

Panic over, Qatar have released four days worth today and I have booked my return. Thanks for everyone’s input.
