I have an Ambassador Weekend Night Certificate showing in my rewards wallet even though I used my free weekend night a couple of weeks ago.
Does it just take time for it to disappear or did the hotel somehow not process it correctly and I’m still able to use it? I was only charged for the single night at the hotel I made the weekend booking at.
Sometimes they forget to deduct the voucher. Last time I used one it was gone immediately, so you might have gotten lucky.

Same. Spent mine in August, but there’s one still sitting in my account.
I really can’t tell how this benefit is policed. Even though I’ve used my certificate I still seem to be able to book multiple weekend stays with the ‘free’ night.
It’s down to the hotel to remove the certificate once they’ve processed your payment. Depends if you want to risk anyone at IHG noticing and spoiling your fun!
The IC Lyon charged us early this summer, credited the nights wrongly, and gave us a very meh upgrade, but they sure as heck made sure to cancel the free night certificate after we checked out!
@NorthernLass completely opposite experience at IC Lyon.
In any case, if you use it again and audit notices at any point you risk your account being shut down. Plenty of stories about this around.
@smitrax You can book Ambassador 241 without the voucher or even membership, but you need to have it by the check-in time.@meta So it’s up to the individual to track their voucher validity?
Not specifically related to this benefit but it’s so frustrating how inconsistent status recognition is. It’s designed to raise expectations and push you toward choosing them over a competitor, then quite often totally fails to deliver on some/all of the benefits.
Yes, it’s up to you. They are actually doing you a service because you don’t have to fork out $225 extra until closer to the stay.
I never had any major issue at any of the ICs with status benefits. In fact this is the only chain hotel that has been consistent with benefits. The only hotel I had a problem with was IC Ljubljana, but they did compensate with points.
