Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Other hotel schemes Speed of GHA upgrade to Titanium

    Hi
Just wondering if people have any data points for speed in which GHA upgrade your status to Titanium based on brand stays.
We are off to SE Asia in a few months. Final few days will be in Hong Kong where having Titanium would be useful in terms of free breakfast (& room upgrade).
However I need 2 brand stays beforehand. We have 3 nights in Saigon immediately before flying to HKG which would be the 3rd stay. However GHA says upgrades are usually processed within 48hours so probably wont be processed in time for HKG. If I were to book a 1n stay, then a 2n stay in the same hotel in Saigon, does anyone know if the 1st single night stay would be processed as a separate stay in order to ensure we hit Titanium before HKG?

The alternative would be to do a stay at the start of our trip in Singapore, but its only an overnight before we fly out again and spending £150 extra on a GHA brand purely to hit Titanium seems a bit pointless given the only real guaranteed benefit is free breakfast later on which costs less than £150.
    TIA

Should be fine, but put the 2nd stay into your partners name (and do a proper check out and re-check in) to avoid confusion.

Is status matching an option? I just came across this webpage offering a status match today. Unfortunately, matching this particular status requires a fee: GHA DISCOVERY Platinum: USD 100, and GHA DISCOVERY Titanium: USD 150. But apparently, you get D$50.if matched to Platinum or D$75 if matched to Titanium.

Of course, how easily D$ will be redeemed is another question!

The list of eligible status holders in select regions is below. (Surprisingly, even types of cards are now included in the table!)

I hope this might be helpful!
