Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Splitting out a redemption – options

So, I’m hoping someone familiar with the rules might be able to decipher them here.

I have my family booked on a return award ticket in the summer.

I now need to travel for work before we return, but there’s no reason for the rest of the family to come back so I’m hopeful they can stay out there the full duration still.

I would need to carve out my return reservation so that I can travel independently, so I guess it boils down to: Can I do that? I’m presuming it’s a call but I’m hoping to know what I am asking for before making that call to save both me and the agent the hassle.

    Any help appreciated!

Yes, your booking can be split but it will be for your whole booking, it can’t just be the return so if the others on the reservation are reliant on your status, that will be lost for the whole trip unless you are gold when they can be linked. It could also be more problematic if there are any vouchers involved. You will get a new PNR for your return journey and will then be able to change your return. It can only be done by telephoning.

That’s excellent, ty – I shall call tomorrow. Loss of status for them is not the end of the world, it’s a SH flight and have baggage allowance with award tix so think it works fine, TY!
