-
Hi there. I requalified for Silver at the reduced threshold a few months ago. I then passed the normal threshold a few weeks later, and have the necessary 4 flights. However, my card expiry is still showing as July 2023 (8 June tier point expiry).
Surely if I’ve earned silver within my tier point year it should show a 2024 expiry? Or have I misunderstood something?

NB: These reduced qualification/requalification thresholds apply until 31 December 2022, regardless of when your membership year ends. They won’t show on the BA app or website – these will still say you need 300/600/1500 tier points – but should you pass the reduced threshold for a higher tier, your level will increase as normal. If you requalify on an existing tier, your status will be extended by the end of January 2023.
Yes, but I qualified at the normal threshold (600), my status tracker now shows I’m silver and that I’m X TPs away from gold, but my card expiry hasn’t moved from 2023. So I don’t think this is covered by that explanation.

There’s lots of similar scenarios/queries referenced in here , which may help find an answer based on something that exactly matches your own situation
The IT isn’t that sophisticated and works mainly on a year to year basis so this will update once your collection year moves to 23/24 on 9th June.
It was specified that it would update after 1 Jan; I think it is a bit unrealistic not to wait for a few days at least.
It never did work properly even before reduced thresholds complicated things.
If you achieved a ‘new’ status it would update straight away with corresponding expiry date. If you ‘retained’ an existing status, it would say retained, but expiry would not update until the end of your year.
For those who where concerned about card expiry dates not being updated on the dot of midnight on 31/12 under the reduced tier point thresholds, I note mine, as of today, now shows 31 March 2024 (normal year end 8 Feb).
Mine too has been updated as of today – collection year ends 8 jul 23, card expiry now showing 31 Aug 24
Mine doesn’t. Still shows expiry of 8/4/23 despite me getting 560 TPs and 4 flights in by last Nov.

I’m sure it will update before too long. Also received an email shortly afterwards making clear the second class citizen nature of the renewal – “Good news. In recognition of your recent flights with us, you have successfully earned the required Tier Points to renew, at our temporarily reduced threshold.“
