Supplementary card membership fee on Amex Platinum

Just signing up on the 60000 offer and in the Ts and Cs says supplementary membership is £285 a year?

Is this correct – understood one extra card was free?

Yes, first one is definitely free

Yes, it’s free. However, you are not the first person to ask this question so I think Amex needs to look again at their wording online because it is probably putting some people off from applying.

Thanks both – when you add the supplementary cardholder name at the end it does make it clear there it is complimentary but in the earlier Ts&Cs if quotes a fee – agree it may put people off

Is it still possible to issue the gold cards? I think I read some small print where they said it was possible for £170…? Or did I get this wrong?

Don’t add them at the end of the application! Wait for the card to arrive then use the supplemental card link to get 5000 MR for adding your first supplemental

Didnt they used to be free (up to 5x)

For the charge card, yes.

For the new credit card only allows one free Platinum and further Platinums are chargeable.

Man, seeing how the BAPP gets 99 supplementary cards, I just wish it was possible to at least still add 4 additional Gold cards for the Platinum card or at least increase the free limit on Gold additional users.

Not all offers appear on all of the cards, with some being restricted to main cardholder only. You would probably spend more time checking each card for rewards than actually reaping rewards.

What will you do with 50 offers from Co-op will writing services? 🙂
