Good morning all, I’ve had the Plus card for a while but rarely use it since retiring, is it easy to ‘downgrade’ to the free card? I have 2 vouchers to be used later this year so presume they’ll be safe…

1. Cancel Plus card
2. Apply for free card
3. Be refused the free card (no six month gap)
4. Ring and explain that you were downgrading and that this is the process the call centre advised you to take (which it is)
5. Have free card application approved via a manual overrideHi
do you know if you cancel the Plus card do you get a prorated refund on the annual fee?
thanks
Is there still no simple way of simply changing from paid card to free card? Any recent experiences?
