Through check baggage on Separate Ethiopian -to- Ethiopian Tickets

Can anyone confirm if Ethiopian will check through bags between their own flights, when booked on separate tickets?
I’m looking at a manual connection in ADD (Addis Ababa); International to International.
Both flights will be ticketed and operated by Ethiopian, and on the same day.

[Trying to figure out if I can avoid getting a visa/e-visa – as would be required if I need to collect and re-check in at ADD.]
