Be aware, coming up to week three of our total East Coast US road trip and costs everywhere are high.. gas nudging $5/gallon, more in some areas..many wayside eateries closed…all overnights expensive, hotels, motels, Airbnb. Lack of staff everywhere causing problems. Many restaurants closed in the evenings or shut early, 8/9pm. And as for car rental costs…good job I booked months ago.
Hey ho, only another two weeks or so !
ps And if doing the Outer Banks, North Carolina, you must book the limited service Ferries at Ocracoke or you could be stranded.

Cheer them all up by telling them how much “gas” currently is in the UK! I’m glad everything is booked and pre-paid for our Florida Keys road trip at Xmas 😬

    Exchange rate nit helping either,

Last October when I booked a hotel it would have cost me £1,800.

When I paid the bill last month it was £2,000

    That’s an increase of 11%

But for perspective … you’re on the beautiful OUter Banks in fantastic NC (one of my fave states), so appreciate what you do have!
