Looking for recommendations for eSim with a local US number.
Having done some research, the main players seem to be t-mobile and Verizon.

I used T-Mobile prepaid eSIM over the summer and it worked well. Got a lot of spam calls though so had to unannounce unknown callers.

Went to Orlando in May and used this: https://tello.com/

I heard reports of lots of spam calls and texts etc from t-mobile prepaid ones, I used this and think I got maybe one (what I assume was from when I signed up to some marketing spiel for a discount at a restuarant).

I also used Tello and had a good experience. Got a few voicemails about someones GP appointment, most likely because they recycle numbers – but that’s going to happen regardless of what provider you go for.

This one could be worth looking into as well, but I haven’t tried so don’t know if it’s easy to sign up from outside the US: https://www.verizon.com/plans/free-trial/
