Using Flying Club miles on China Airlines

I’m about to call VS tomorrow and try to use my FC miles to book CI flights. I can see the availability on DELTA and Flying Blue but not on VS. I’ve read mixed reports as to whether Virgin CS will be able to see the avail and book the flights. Is there anything you say in particular that may help the agent see the CI availability? Thanks!

Nope – nothing special. Sometimes, HUACA works if you get an agent that can’t find them.

Thanks. Now, I just need them to get a move on with transferring my spouse’s miles across to me and I can get on with trying to book those flights!

The first agent I got through to on the chat found the tickets immediately. He did seem to be on the ball though and asked specifically for the flight number I was after rather than just the route. I also gave him the booking class. I’m not sure if that helped matters. I then changed my VPN to The Czech Republic and used the Czech Airlines app to choose my seats.
I then tried to book another flight on China Airlines with another agent but he couldn’t get them. I’m not sure if it was because of the way he tried to search for them. The chat is a revelation for me though as more than once on the phone the CS has messed up the spelling of my name and I’ve had to call back and book again! So much easier on the chat!

Glad to hear it, at least, partly worked for you! The chat is great, but it’s hit and miss when it appears, which is a bit of an annoyance.

i have booked recently, you have to call to book but was fine no issues.

The biggest impact for some of Czech Airlines closing down next month will be losing this ability to book seats on Virgin partner redemptions!
