Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Virgin Atlantic tier points

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t find it here.

I am due to book a virgin holiday and earn 350 points due to cost, am I correct in thinking that the economy flight gets an extra 50 this taking me to silver status?

    Many thanks

The lead booker earns 20 points per £500 spend, up to a maximum of £400 per trip. Every passenger earns their own flight TPs. In economy, that could be 25 or 50 each way depending on which bucket you’re booked in to. Generally, VS Hols will use discounted buckets, so you can expect 25 each way, for a total of 50, but they sometimes book in to higher buckets.

    E, N, O, Q, T and X earn 25 each way.
    B, L, M, R, U and Y earn 50 each way.

Assuming you get 400 in some combination as above, then – yes, you’ll get Silver status. Silver works on a rolling year period, so if you want to maintain, you have 12mo. from the date you move to Silver to renew it.

Thanks, so as long as I spend £9k on the holiday then I get silver. This is what I was hoping.

Or you could spend £8k on the holiday and fly Economy Delight each way. ED gets you 50 tier points each way, the same as Premium, and usually isn’t that much more expensive than Economy.
