Anyone know if port or starboard is better for the The Irresistible Med? What deck do people recommend?

I really don’t think it will matter for that itinerary. You’re travelling the same distances East and West. Unless there’s something specific that you want to see at some point from your cabin then it’s a wash. I think it’s normally journeys that travel between destinations where side is seen as important.

    Anyone

Preface: I’ve never been on a cruise

I changed my mind twice about this (VV were very helpful in changing cabin) but ultimately decided due to the port days being 100% its better to have a balcony cabin looking out to sea rather than over a port area.

We’ll be out the room enough that if we want to view the port we can, but if we want a nice view when just chilling in the room I’d prefer to see out to the sea.

    My 2 cents!

Bought one of these for my mother but she is now unable to travel.

Does anyone know if there’s a secret to getting the voucher refunded? I have Emailed Virgin Red 3 times and I just don;t get a reply anymore. Seems like awful customer service and no way to phone them?!

Could try the online contact form that’s on the Virgin Red website? https://membersupport.red.virgin.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new

I’m also booked on this one, our first cruise too. Not used any referral, but from the other comments looks like you can link them to get this?

Not had chance to look properly into the activities yet.

    Thanks to Stephen’s tips:
    1) Open the referral link
    2) Scroll down until you can see “The Sea Terrace”, and press “Screw it, let’s do it” – at this point, it will still show the cash price (but you can enter your code from Virgin Red in the next step)
    3) Towards the bottom of the page, you should see “Access Key?”, enter this from your email and press “Validate”. It should then bring the total to £0.00 allowing you to checkout without the need to make any payment
Not sure if it will work on the “free” booking but worth a go.
The above will only work Before you make your booking.

I’ve booked the French Daze & Ibiza Nights sailing July.
Could anyone confirm if the currency used onboard? I see the bar tabs are priced in US dollars, does the casino also use US dollars?

@MarkH1 – the ship’s currency is USD for everything.

The logic is sound but I’m not sure about the praticality of doing this. I’m not a port expert but I know plenty of ports dock on either side of the boat, and others dock with the ship facing towards land. Without finding out how Virgin is normally docked at each port, and finding out that they bias towards one side, you can’t ensure you’re getting sea views when docked.

Yeah I just figured where the boat is going geographically in my case it’s sailing east then south mainly, therefore port side is north and east respectively mainly. Will soon find out!

How many bar tabs are people buying?

I’ve bought one and am wondering about a second… but think $700 might be a little too much for a weeks booze!

    Roberto 283 posts

    I bought Two Steve…

I figured a bottle of wine 6 nights and the wine pairing at the test kitchen will burn through one…

Then some afternoon drinking in the sunshine , a cocktail before dinner and a “couple” after will burn another with out much trouble..

Or without wine its something like 7 days x 2 people x 8 drinks each per day at say $10 a time , do the maths – one wont get you past wednesday!

Oh and a bloody Mary for breakfast…
    And that tequila tasting thing

    See you on board
