I’ve found a new link for 40,000 points for the Priority Club Black Visa credit card

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The last 40,000 point offer I saw for the Priority Club Rewards Black Visa credit card expired last month.

However, a Google search brought up this link.

As you can see, it is offering 40,000 points as a sign-up bonus instead of the usual 20,000.  I have no idea where this link orginated – Barclays has been snail-mailing people with 40,000 point links from time to time, so it could be from that.

It could also, of course, be an old link which has not been deleted.

However, if you were planning to apply for the Priority Club Black card anyway, then you have nothing to lose by using this 40,000 point link.  You will either get 40,000 points or the standard 20,000, which is what you would have got anyway.

The card is not a bad package.  40,000 points is 80% of a night at a top InterContinental worth £250.  You also get Priority Club Platinum status – their top tier – for as long as you hold the card.  And if you spend £10,000 a year, you get a voucher for a free night at ANY Priority Club property, potentially worth £250+ if used well.

The annual fee is £99.

If anyone has had a mailshot offering 40,000 points recently, please let me know the web address that came with it.

Nice find, though I’m not sure it’s a current offer. According to the linked website, a night at the IC Park Lane costs 40,000 points. It did once!

Mind you, the previous offer hadn’t taken account of rate increases, so it’s hard to tell.

    • Raffles says:

Good spot. I think this link is best used by anyone who was going to get the card anyway, so if they don’t get 40k then they won’t be disappointed.

However, there is also a 30k points link which is definitely OK as hotels are promoting it in their lobbys – see ‘Credit Cards Update’ under PC Black for the link.

Any idea if churning is possible with PC Visa? I have cancelled my card recently.
Also its worth pointing out that it’s probably better to hold off applying until January so the points post in the new year for plat status.

    • Raffles says:

Black comes with Plat status anyway (although it is not on the website yet). Do a search for a post I wrote on this. And don’t worry … your points won’t post by January anyway. Possibly not even by Easter! Barclays is very slow.

  • timezonehopper says:

As a datum point here. I went for this card when Raffles last wrote about it. I activated the card late August and first used it on 26/8. The 40k PC points hit my account on 23/10.

    • Raffles says:

That is better going that us. Tomorrow is 8 weeks from the statement date of our first statement, so 12 weeks from the first transaction. Rules say you must wait 8 weeks from the statement date. I know they have got the right number because my wife account was moved up to Platinum already. Tomorrow I will be sending them an email …

  • asher says:

Can these points be moved to an avios account?

  • asher says:

so what is the best way to use them?

    • Raffles says:

Hotel rooms. 40k is 2 Holiday Inn nights in most places (1.6 in London!) or 80% of a super-luxury InterContinental night or a couple of Holiday Inn Express nights. If you redeem for PointsBreak hotels (see Tuesday’s post) you would get a whopping 8 nights for 40,000, but these hotels are offered quite randomly at this special rate.

  • asher says:

Will this card give me access to airport lounges?

    • Raffles says:

No. The only cards that come with some form of lounge access are Amex Preferred Rewards Gold (no fee, only 2 lounge passes though) or Amex Platinum (£450 fee, gets 2 Priority Pass cards which get you into hundreds of lounges worldwide as often as you want, plus a Cathay Pacific Gold card which gets you into BA lounges at Heathrow.)

  • dudeabides12 says:

    Hi Raffles,
What is the spend required to trigger the bonus?
