Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Dan Brown back at Tesco with 500 bonus Clubcard points – just 0.75p per Avios

Back in February, Tesco Direct was offering you the chance to pre-order the new Dan Brown book for just £9. You got 500 bonus Tesco Clubcard points with each copy, so 1200 Avios or 1250 Flying Club miles!

Tesco quickly sold out of their pre-order allocation. Too quickly, as it turned out, because a lot of people had their orders cancelled.

More stock seems to have appeared, though, because the offer is back.

You can get 500 Clubcard points for pre-ordering the new Dan Brown book, Inferno (see here) and using code TD-MNRW at the check-out. You should actually order 2 copies, as book orders over £15 qualify for free postage!

Do NOT order more than 2 copies, though, as it is highly likely that Tesco will cancel your order.

The maths works out VERY nicely on this one, at 0.75p per Avios – and that is without any conversion bonus.

I got the same message as Scott above. Ah well.

In good news, I got my Tesco wine order yesterday. And I’d ordered one ‘Mystery Case of Whites’… £36 for 12 bottles. Guess I got lucky because I got some really nice and good wine, worth about £130 🙂

  • Dan Wright says:

Ordered one copy last night, confirmation recieved and 500 CC points added – just recieved mail saying order cancelled and refund processed.

  • melly g says:

Working now just got 2 and 1000 cc points thanks

  • BP says:

Had the “Sorry, we don’t have enough Inferno items in stock right now” message @ 9.15, but can now get onto payment screen, code worked and as it stands the order and points have gone through (let’s see if it gets cancelled though as i havent had an email yet…).

I also got the no books left message but then tried the iPhone tesco app and got my 5!!

  • GlennM says:

I actually mentioned this yesterday under the Tesco Wine CC points discussion. Its great they gave a new code, as that’s probably what allowed for the additional purchase for those that bought back in the day. Also, worth looking back at your pre-order price last time to see if you are due a automatic refund on the difference.

As a side, new points are available on HP Ink Cartridges again, 500pts for 2. But only on two options, £10 and £25 versions. Obviously the £10 is best for points, but at £20 for two = 500pts not so generous if you haven’t got the two year free deliver code for Tesco direct.
