  Looks like Qatar are continuing their business companion sale until April 29th to almost match the BA avios debacle. Fares between £870-£970 from CPH and ARN to Asia with some
  very short layovers. Some people mentioned they didn’t cancel their 241 tickets for this reason. They might want to look again. We got dreamliner all 4 legs and need to be flexible with dates.

  Unknown dates for Etihad cc 25000 mile bonus offer are 13th April until some time in July. Some readers may have noted my comment that mbna had not applied the offer to my cards when I applied after Rob linled the Etihad advert on 5th April. Followed this up with MBNA and it is good news. . They said they were unaware of Etihad advertising the promo too early but after I forwarded them the HfP post and Etihad advert they investigated it further. They have now confirmed that they will hnour the 25000 miles for those applying via the Etihad site before 13th April as quite a number of people were affected.

  Hi wondered if anyone can help. Have booked 241 business seats Manchester to Bangkok return for June but need to come back a few days earlier than expected. There is nothing available for the dates I was looking at but will more seats be available with the avios changes and if so although it is off peak travel will I have to pay more avios for the return flight etc? Hope this makes sense as new to this?

    Because you booked before April 28th, you won’t pay more if you change to a new date, peak or off peak. You are at the mercy of BA making a seat available however.

    I suggest you look at Kuala Lumpur, which has better availability, and then buy a cheap connecting flight with Air Asia or similar.

      Hi I asked BA but she said I couldn’t do that with a 241 as it was in a different zone!! I wasn’t sure of the rules.

        Call back, and you might get a CSA with better know.edge. Of course they can change the return from a different city, even outside the zone. It’s called open jaw. And BKK is actually less avios than SIN or KUL. If they book you back on one of those routes, you might just have to pay a difference in avios and or taxes. But not much though. Try again. A lot of people use air Asia to hop to these three cities. Very useful network.

          If it’s an existing 2-4-1 booking (which it is), you can only change to another city costing the same amount of Avios. I don’t know what would happen if you cancelled the return and then tried to book a new return though.

        Rule is that both flights must be longer than the gap between arrival and departure airport, which is clearly ok here.

      I posted a comment a few days back with terms from a ticket I have already booked this week that made it explicitly clear that changes would result in avios being refunded or more charged if I changed after 28/4. Was a surprize to me as I thought it only applied to flights ticketed after 28/4.

        Same with ours to HKG in Jan 16. We all thought here on this site that current t and c applied to all bookings before the 28th. Seems it’s not so. Even now as I am booking O H biz flights, the alerts are coming up very clearly.

          That is not what BA has said. If you read that message it reads, very clearly, as if it is only meant to apply for bookings made after April 28th. My guess is that it is a pop-up designed to appear after April 28th but which has been programmed incorrectly.

          Suspect you are right Rob. Just checked avios earned on my UuA flight and it is 125% still whi h I also assummed to be unchanged until ticketing from 28th. Wae just thrown by that appearing in middle of booking process. So, I think we can relax Polly.

  Do you know, how quick Amex transfer points to Avios? I only have £24 to spend to hit my AmEx sign-up bonus. Is it possible to hit the target tomorrow (26th) and get avios before end of 27th?

    No. The bonus goes across with your standard ‘end of the month’ miles transfer.
