New Amex cashback offers with retailers you may actually visit

If you had begun to think that the American Express statement credit deals were getting rather too eclectic (Plenish Cleanse?  Paper London?), the good news is that a new raft of deals was launched yesterday.

If you have an Amex-issued American Express card, you need to register by visiting your online account and clicking the ‘Offers’ tab at the bottom of the statement page.  You should see some or all of the following:

  • £10 off £50 spend at Shell
  • £10 off £65 spend at World Duty Free
  • £15 off £60 spend at Ocado
  • £5 off £20 spend at Boots
  • £10 off £50 spend at
  • £10 off £50 spend at House of Fraser
  • £10 off £40 spend at Debenhams
  • £10 off £25 spend at Vue Cinemas
  • £5 off £10 spend at Caffe Nero
  • £10 off £100 spend at Heals
  • £20 off £100 spend at Thomas Pink
  • £50 off £250 spend at Moss Bros
  • £10 off £50 spend at Fat Face
  • £20 off £200 spend at Co-Op Electrical

Expiry dates vary but most are in June.  Some offers have a cap for how many cards can be registered so don’t delay – once registered, there is no rush to actually make the relevant expenditure.

Remember that these deals stack with any other offer you have.  As long as you charge the required amount – in one transaction – to the Amex card you registered then the cashback will be paid.

The World Duty Free offer, for example, will work just fine alongside the £5 off coupons that are available easily online.  Buying a gift card to use later also works OK.

These are offers are NOT currently showing on the site.  If you don’t see the one you want on your statement page, keep checking back to cardmemberoffers as – if it does turn up (as they usually do) – you can register there.

If you have a Lloyds, MBNA or Barclays Amex card, you can register here.

  • Jade says:

I have seen these offers but never use them, if I use them do they come off the points I have accumulated or are they additional perks?

    • Rob says:

You lose points equivalent to the cash refund, so £5 back on a BA Amex means 5 Avios removed.

      • Jon says:

I’ve never had any MR removed for the refunds from these offers.

  • Jason says:

Received the Etihad guest card yesterday, for my wife, firstly it says 5000 pt bonus on the pack- do I need to call them.
Secondly has anyone had any joy getting the recent Amex offers on an MBNA card?

  • jinx99 says:

£10 (for £50 @ Shell) on my MBNA Amex showing as a statement credit just over 24hrs after I bought the diesel.

    • jinx99 says:

Bought £25 on 3Vs (x 2 Amex cards) in Boots. Nothing showing yet – will confirm when it does.

I suppose it’s possible that giftcard transactions don’t count?

Nothing to lose in any case.

      • jinx99 says:

Just says General Purchases online so should be OK.

        • jinx99 says:

And the £5 back on £20 is stored in My Offers.

      • jinx99 says:

Actually a ‘You successfully redeemed email’ popped up just now but timed at a minute or so after the transaction, not sure why it got held up before showing in my inbox

      • Jason says:

I’ve had 4 so far, for 3v cards at boots, just loaded another 3 on supplementary cards.

  • kevino says:

Anybody managed to find and load the World Duty Free deal?

    • jinx99 says:

Not me but I’m jaundiced – there’s no DF in Europe, it’s a con.

All they are good for is a few free samples of the oldest single malt you can identify to the girlies

  • jinx99 says:

Another £5 hits the wife’s statement.

£25 3V card @ Boots does the trick.

  • tully says:

MBNA credited my £10 on the Shell deal just 24hrs after I bought my petrol.

  • Trevor says:

Darn! Skipped checking cardmember offers for a couple of days and now deals live there but Shell must have hit its max as not showing. 🙁

  • Jason says:

Has anyone done the £200 spend at co-op and had the credit?
