Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get 1,200 Avios with ANY case of Tesco Wine – even sale bargains

Tesco Wine has launched a new ‘open to everyone’ promotional code.

This is, to be frank, not as exciting as some of the recent offers in terms of points.  However, if your wine rack is looking a little empty then this is worth a look as your spend could be as low as £30.

Discount code XXMRR4 gives 500 bonus Clubcard points on any 6-bottle order placed by Sunday 27th September, subject to a maximum of 5,000 people using it.

500 Clubcard points is worth 1,200 Avios or 1,250 Virgin Flying Club miles.

There are plenty of wines currently at half-price in the Tesco sale.  There are numerous 6-bottle cases around the £30 mark which are reduced from £60 – take a look at the Tesco Wine site here.

Delivery is free if you spend over £50, otherwise it costs £6.  This means that you are looking at a potential £36 spend for 1,200 Avios and six bottles of half-price wine.  Which isn’t bad.

The Tesco Wine home page is here.

    “Cheers” literally Rob!

6 bottles of Ara Select Blocks Sauv Blanc winging their way to me, along with 500 bonus CC points.

I guess that makes up in some small part for my earnings rate being reduced from 1 point for every £2 to 1 point for every £8 spent on my Tesco World MasterCard from 1/11 ….

  • Ludicrous says:

Never got more than a few hundred Avios a quarter from Tesco before I found this page, already got over 16,000 waiting to transfer over in November now, and as this is the second wine one posted, I’m starting to get a decent collection going 🙂

    Thanks for the help

    • idrive says:

  • cheekychappie says:

Not difficult to buy 12 ‘gluggers’ – perfectly drinkable wine – for £51, ie £3.05/ bottle after the points

    551 TCC points = 1322 Avios
    110 Avios (AMEX)

    • GlennM says:

I do hope you also went through British Airways Shopping Points channel before purchasing, they are also doing a deal on Tesco Wine of extra Avios too.

  • Pjh981 says:

7.22am – code appears to already be invalid

  • Simon says:

755am – code works fine. adds 500 CC points

  • Bruce says:

Great! Just stocked up on a few bottles!

  • Chris Ruddy says:

    8:24 and code still works

  • pauldb says:

Tesco currently offering a month’s free Delivery Saver (must cancel within 30 days). Includes free standard delivery on wine, so in theory removes the £6 charge. It’s not explicit that there’s no minimum order for this to qualify on wine, but as delivery is free over £50 anyway I assume it must work. So potentially 500pts on 6 bottles of any price and no delivery charge.
[I want to postpone my sign-up till next week, otherwise I could be definitive about it.]

    • slonik says:

Unfortunately, the free delivery ploy doesn’t work. When you get the delivery saver you get an email with code to use on Tesco Wine, but the site only lets you use one code per order so you can’t combine the free delivery with the bonus club card points. So your best bet is just to order £50 of wine 🙂

      • MadMiler says:

It is my understanding that this applies to only one code per order beginning with “XX”.
You will find that the code sent in the Delivery Saver email is of different characters, therefore you can apply both (ie. One for 500 bonus points and one to remove the £6 charge)
