Le Club AccorHotels, the loyalty programme for Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, Mercure etc, has launched an online quiz to teach you more about the programme.

The great news is that you will receive 1,050 to 1,100 Le Club AccorHotels points for doing it!  The points post instantly.

You can find it here.

The quiz is called ‘Rewards Quest’.  Whilst I call it a quiz, the number of points you earn is not dependent on how you answer the questions.  Get them right or get them wrong, you will still get the points.

The questions are slightly different if you do not have status in Le Club.  I was only able to earn 1,050 points as a Platinum member whilst a base level member should be able to receive the full 1,100.

If your account is set up to automatically convert points to miles, you will presumably receive these as miles instead.  If not, you will need to earn a few more before you can do anything with them.

The minimum conversion to Avios points is 3,000 points.  You should always transfer Accor points into Iberia and not British Airways because the conversion rate is 1:1 compared with 2:1.

The minimum conversion into an Accor hotel discount is 2,000 points which gets you €40.

At certain times in the past it has been possible to convert points to miles irrespective of your balance.  I don’t think you can do that at the moment but the option may come back.  It is worth claiming your free points just in case.

Note:  I had trouble getting the quiz to work on my PC, both in Chrome and in Internet Explorer.  It worked fine on my iPad.  Your experience may differ.

You can log-in and play “Rewards Quest” here.  It will run until 14th February.

Is there anyway of gifting some accor points from one account to the other?

  • testpie says:

Thanks Raffles – 1,100 Points in the bag. I did sit there wondering if there’s some XML-like API sending HTTP requests of each “+500” over, so you could replay it; but I’m guessing that would be pretty obvious on the Points Statement.

Tried opening an account today but will not accept password chosen even though iT’s online with rules, changed password three times but no luck, any ideas?

  • Lostantipod says:

Had to turn my iPad around from “portrait” to “landscape” just to get the contest page to load correctly; and unlike others, I could not achieve the 200 points for subscribing, no matter what I tried. So, 800 points better off , after a typically dysfunctional Accor website experience ….

    • Lostantipod says:

Go figure….the remaining 200 points credited later on. Must be the Accor server is overloaded by HFP readers ;). Good shout , Raffles – thanks

  • Fido says:

Lovely – that knocks me up to over 2000 points now so a €40 credit towards a stay in sunny Southampton in Jan 🙂

  • Andrew H says:

And I see sandgrounder is posting in this thread, so thanks for digging up those links in January.

  • Nick says:

Thank you I’ll try this today woke up today it hadn’t worked as I expected from yesterdays egg timer farce not working I re try it several timed only to find lots of email from Accor saying you chose your earning partner…. You cancelled it…. You selected Iberia etc daft website have to say. I’ll post if it works by tommorow?!

I assume any Iberia plus account will work ie mine as wife hasn’t got one?!

    • Andrew H says:

I got all those emails too. The only one that counts is the one I got last night. 🙂

Any Iberia Plus account should work. My account is older than 90 days and did previously have Avios in it, but hasn’t for a while. Hopefully I won’t have to wait three months.

  • Rob says:

I tried the Sandgrounder link yesterday BUT setting a BAEC account (couldn’t be bothered to get my Mum an Iberia account) and it failed.

I will bite the bullet and do an IB account and try again.

My wife already had autoconvert on her account and her points went across automatically.

    • Andrew H says:

It’s strange how the Air Berlin page didn’t work for me but worked for Peaceful Waters, yet the jetprivilege link did work, despite the pages looking identical. I didn’t try the Iberia Plus link.

I will post here when I’ve got my points. Hopefully it won’t take too long.

    • Jonny says:

Could someone confirm that you can move points *into* an Iberia Plus account straight away – just have to wait 90 days to transfer them *out*?
