Excellent SWISS long-haul business class sale from the UK

Who needs a Qatar Airways sale anyway?  (Well, unless you are after BA tier points of course …..)

SWISS has launched a rather uncharacteristic deeply discounted Business Class sale from the UK.  The prices are EXCELLENT as long as two people travel together.

SWISS has a fantastic business class product, by all accounts.  I haven’t flown it – I was lucky to fly the excellent SWISS First Class product on my last two flights – but it looks great.

Swiss business class 1

The seat above is the most coveted – the layout is either 2-2-2 or 1-2-1 depending on row. The seat above, for which SWISS will charge you a fee to book (all other seat selection is free), is regarded as the ‘throne’.

Swiss business class

As you will need to be travelling with a partner to get these sale prices, however, one of the centre pairs above or a window pair will suit you just fine.

Swiss business class 3

These are the fares on offer:

Tel Aviv – £578

Cairo – £672

Muscat – £978

Dubai – £1,028

Delhi – £1,079

Mumbai – £1,128

Beijing – £1,178

Shanghai – £1,178

Nairobi – £1,278

Singapore – £1,378

Johannesburg – £1,398

Dar es Salaam – £1,526

Bangkok – £1,529

Hong Kong – £1,579

Bangkok is oddly expensive given that other airlines are massively discounting that route.  Johannesburg is a fantastic deal, as are the Indian and Chinese routes.  The Middle East pricing is pretty good too although BA can get as low as £1,300 in a sale.

The miles you earn from these flights will go into Miles & More, the Lufthansa /  SWISS programme, or any other Star Alliance airline.  If you want the flexibility to top up your account, SAS and Singapore Airlines are Amex Membership Rewards transfer partners whilst Miles & More and United MileagePlus have their own UK credit cards.

You can depart from London Heathrow, London City, Manchester or Birmingham.

Here are the key dates:

Book by 3rd July

Travel between 1st July and 31st March 2018

Minimum stay 3 days

No changes / no refunds

Blackout dates apply

The SWISS booking page is here.  Remember that you must book for TWO people to get this pricing.

  • James A says:

Cairo is operated by A320s with eurobiz, buyer beware.

    • Lev441 says:

Assume it’s the same equipment to tel aviv also…

      • Matt says:

Did a dummy booking, looks like 3 class A330 with proper business and also first.

        • lev441 says:

Thanks! Paid £575 for Easyjet to TLV back in April…. Would definitely rather slum it in business..!!

          • Lawro says:

To be honest though that’s pretty pricey for Easyjet on that route…

        • James A says:

To Cairo? Must have changed, always used to be A320. Apologies.

          • Lev441 says:

Lawro – it was when it was half term / Easter / Passover so it was peak peak peak time! Still pained me to pay so much though..!

          • Andrew says:

I’m interested in knowing this for sure – the booking site says it is a ‘lie-flat’ seat, but the flight is operated with an Airbus A320, which according to their seat map, is eurobiz as you suggest (i.e. just an empty middle seat)

  • M says:

Any exceptional prices in J to New York?

  • Adam says:

Any idea when these fares will be running until?

  • Sohan says:

Only thing is, when I flew business to Athens via Zurich, the first leg was crap. Tiny plane with normal seats (ok, 2×2 layout, seated next to empty seat) which really didn’t compare to the amazing seats on the Athens leg. Also cold food on 1st leg vs amazing meal on 2nd one. Why don’t they use nicer planes on the way to Zurich?…

Still, overall it was amazing and good value at 400 return.

  • Adam says:

    Thanks 🙂

  • Ruddy says:

OT: Booked tix; LAX-YYC and YYC-JFK on AA and gave BAEC number, turns out both flights were operated by WestJet and I have not yet received any miles/TP’s – any idea how long they take to credit or whether I’ll already get them? It’s been 10d+ since my first flight

    • AndyR says:

I don’t think you will get them. You do not earn Avios/TP’s on a oneworld partner flight code (i.e AA) when it is operated by non-airline partner (WestJet).

  • aviator says:

    any oneworld deals going on?

    • Rob says:

BA sale has just started about 3 hours ago ….

      • aviator says:

Thanks, just checked it out. But it doesn’t seem like a proper sale…Montreal flights I have been keeping an eye out (Sept) for a work trip but the price has remained unchanged… hmm…maybe it takes a while to load?

      • Tayo says:

BA seems to have IT issues (***shocked**), when you click on a link to get to the actual bookings.,..it comes up with a 404 error…happened on the a Malta booking and on a Cancun booking..

  • Donna says:

Whta is the cheapest way to book for 2 adults and 1 child over 12? Will the higher price apply to the additional booking?
