Special deals at Park Hyatt and Andaz hotels via the new Hyatt Prive ‘preferred partner’ scheme

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The Hyatt hotel group has launched a benefits programme for luxury travel agents.  It is called Hyatt Prive.

This allows you to get special benefits – for no additional cost – for stays at:

  • all Park Hyatt hotels (Park Hyatt Mallorca is below)
  • all Andaz hotels
  • some Grand Hyatt hotels
  • some Hyatt Regency hotels
  • some hotels in The Unbound Collection

Hyatt is a bit late to the game here.  Four Seasons, Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, Belmond, Jumeirah and other high-end groups have had similar programmes for years.  They are really a bribe to persuade high-end travel agents to recommend a particular hotel on the basis that ‘they can get you a special deal’.

Here are the benefits of booking via a Hyatt Prive agent (and Emyr Thomas of Bon Vivant, who we partner with, just happens to be one of them!):

At Park Hyatt hotels you will get:

  • $100 property credit per room per stay
  • One category room upgrade confirmed within 24 hours of booking
  • Daily full breakfast for two
  • Early check-in (from 9am) and late check-out (to 4pm) subject to availability
  • Welcome gift and letter

At Andaz and participating Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and The Unbound Collection hotels, you are offered:

  • A $50 or $100 property credit per room per stay
  • One category room upgrade confirmed within 24 hours of booking
  • Daily full breakfast for two
  • Early check-in (from 9am) and late check-out (to 4pm) subject to availability
  • Welcome gift and letter

Note that a two-night minimum stay is required at Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency and The Unbound Collection.  Park Hyatt and Andaz only require a one-night stay.

Hyatt Prive rates will earn points and stay credit in World of Hyatt.

Park Hyatt Hamburg

Will I pay a premium for these benefits?

No.  Well, probably no.

As with Four Seasons Preferred Partner and the like, you will pay the Best Flexible Rate showing on hyatt.com.

If you were going to book a refundable rate anyway then you are not paying any extra.  If you were happy to book a pre-paid, non-refundable room then Hyatt Prive will cost you a little more.

In many cases, of course, the $50-$100 hotel credit and the free breakfast will still make Hyatt Prive a better deal overall.

Hyatt Regency Churchill London

Isn’t this the same as American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts?

Yes, very similar.

However ….. anyone can book Hyatt Prive rates (you must have a Platinum card to book Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts) and the range of participating hotels in Hyatt Prive is wider.

Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts can also occasionally cost more than Best Flexible Rate.  This is not the case with Hyatt Prive.

How to book

If you don’t have any luxury travel agent contacts, we are obviously happy for you to book through our partner, Emyr Thomas of Bon Vivant.  We have been working with Emyr for just over a year and are just about to break the $1m mark in gross bookings!

Feedback on Emyr has been universally excellent from readers who have booked through him, and I also use him myself.

This page of HfP tells you more about our luxury hotel booking service and has a contact form to reach Emyr.

Great news as I already use Emyr to book the Andaz Liverpool street as he sometimes has got me a slightly better deal. This is a much better deal. Emyr is great to work with and quickly responds to enquiries.

Thanks for checking with Emyr, Rob – glad he can provide this.

  • Annih says:

I have been told it’s not guaranteed and still subject to availability. Do we s that mean it will be confirmed within 24hours or just the same as virtuoso?
