Aer Lingus said on Friday that it is poised to announce two more North American routes within the next few weeks.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Montreal are amongst the names in the frame.  Pittsburgh has just paid British Airways a chunky sum to launch a service to the city next year which may rule that one out, given that the city presumably has a limited budget.

Aer Lingus to launch new US routes

Services would launch in July 2019 as deliveries of 12 new Airbus A321 aircraft – adapted to be able to fly long-haul to the US East Coast – begin.

Given the low taxes charged on Avios redemptions on Aer Lingus, we will be keeping an eye on this.  Our review of Aer Lingus business class from Dublin to Boston – which is better than BA Club World overall – is here.
