not on any of our 6 cards.

  • Stuart says:

OT but does anyone know of a nice hotel in Oxford where you can use reward nights. I’ve checked Hilton, IHG, Marriott / SPG and accor.

I’m thinking that Hotels.com is the best way at this point but any other ideas.

Any way I can use MR points?

    Thanks

    Stuart

    • Brian says:

The Eastgate is quite nice. Service is a bit haphazard, but the Privilege Rooms are good and the location is probably as good as it gets in Oxford. It’s Mercure-branded – the only chain hotel in the proper centre.

    • The Original Nick says:

Stuart, there’s a HI at Peartree roundabout with buses into and out of city centre which would take about 10 minutes. Like Brian said, there’s nothing else in the city centre. There’s also a Jury’s inn a stones throw from that HI which is on the Wolvercote roundabout.

  • KevMc says:

O/T Avios have finally posted to my Aer Lingus account from a United flight taken in May last year!

  • PF says:

I’ve also been told (by an amex travel chat agent) that it must be a single transaction. Though I am sceptical that this is really the case. I have two hotels and a car rental to book for 600+, however it is not clear to me how/if I can book these as a single bundled transaction on amex travel website. Anyone know if that is possibls?

  • Will says:

One very obvious one is booking a BA premium economy ticket in the current sale and then using avios to upgrade it to CW.

  • Brian says:

I have an offer for £100 off £500 at Peninsula Hotels, which might be of interest to some on here.

  • Ryan says:

Hi, I can see your chat reason, let me quickly go through it.
    Raj at 9:40, Sep 8:
I can see you wish to chat about Amex Travel offer.
    Raj at 9:41, Sep 8:
Just for your information, if you are not seeing the relevant offer on your online account then you need to wait for the relevant offer to appear automatically on your account.
    Raj at 9:41, Sep 8:
We have not heard from you for some time. Do you wish to continue to chat?
    Raj at 9:42, Sep 8:
You may see it sooner or later as these are rolled out to your valuable card members in several batches.
    Raj at 9:42, Sep 8:
So, you simply need to wait for the relevant offer to appear on your online account and then you can enroll for it to avail the offer benefits.

OT – Possibly stupid question, but my current bablance on my SPG AMex card is £5000, but I’m only showing 10,000 points. Shouldn’t this be 15k?

    Thanks
