Which British Airways airline partners let you earn Executive Club tier points when you fly with them?

You probably already know that British Airways is part of the oneworld alliance, a global airline alliance, that permits you to earn Avios and tier points on any oneworld flight.

However, British Airways also has additional, non-oneworld partners where you have the opportunity to earn and redeem Avios and tier points.

New Avios partners via Qatar Airways

In early 2022, Qatar Airways adopted Avios as its loyalty currency.  You can move Avios back and forth between British Airways and Qatar Airways by linking your accounts – click here for details.

The adoption of Avios by Qatar Airways means that you can now earn and spend Avios on another FIVE airlines:

• Bangkok Airways
• JetBlue
• LATAM
• Middle East Airlines
• RwandAir
• Virgin Australia

New Avios partners via Finnair

In March 2024, Finnair adopted Avios. This added two new airlines where you can earn and spend Avios:

Earning Avios on United Airlines

Weirdly, as it is in Star Alliance, you can also earn Avios via Aer Lingus AerClub when you fly to the US with United Airlines.  This article explains how.

How to earn Avios from UK credit cards (April 2024)

As a reminder, there are various ways of earning Avios points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses!

In February 2022, Barclaycard launched two exciting new Barclaycard Avios Mastercard cards with a bonus of up to 25,000 Avios. You can apply here.

You qualify for the bonus on these cards even if you have a British Airways American Express card:

You can also get generous sign-up bonuses by applying for American Express cards which earn Membership Rewards points. These points convert at 1:1 into Avios.

Run your own business?

We recommend Capital on Tap for limited companies. You earn 1 Avios per £1 which is impressive for a Visa card, along with a sign-up bonus worth 10,500 Avios.
