Shouldn’t the double points on Eurostar bookings be on this list?

  • Shoestring says:

31st May – last day to get Amazon app for £10 off £30

    • MDA says:

      Which offer is this?

      • Shoestring says:

You download the Amazon app and get £10 off your next order over £30 (sold by Amazon) when you order on the app

  • MDA says:

OT: If booking a hotel in advance (free cancellation) on hotels.com but want to change the payment card before then, would there be any issues? (e.g. refunding a downpayment from one card to another when its cancelled) Thanks

    • the_real_a says:

If payment hasn’t already been taken, then are you sure you haven’t booked a “pay at hotel” rate? On these the credit card is just stored in case you dont show up.

  • Lee says:

Hi could someone tell me I just registered for the Marriott double points promotion .

Do I need to rebook my original booking made before I signed up to the offer to be eligible for the offer as I booked yesterday for August but only signed up today for the double points promotion.

    Thanks in advance

    • Lee says:

Just seen it’s only valid till June:(

    • Rob says:

Existing bookings are ok with Marriott. Only Accor is a pain and needs rebooking.

    • TGLoyalty says:

Thanks Harry just bagged £10 off on my extra account.

      • Shoestring says:

yep it’s not on every a/c anyway, just eligible on 2 of our family a/cs

a couple of half price bottles of single malt whisky and £9 of fillers I’d have bought anyway 🙂

      • TripRep says:

Is the Amex points £15 still working too?

  • David says:

Isn’t 31st May also the last date before the BAEC price rises for parter airline redemptions?

  • Fred S says:

OW Biz ex-Germany/France pulled? Pricing coming up double..

  • n_g says:

First time commenter and this is probably an obvious question but what’s the optimal way to buy BA flights with an Amex Platinum? Via the Amex travel platform or direct with BA.

I’m tempted to buy a single WTP ticket and a second WT ticket before the sale ends as the WTP leg has room to upgrade to CW with Avios while the return leg does not. I assume buying two singles with BA at different classes does not add up to a substantial amount more.

    • Anna says:

Single cash fares on BA long haul are astronomical! You buy a return ticket in 2 different classes and just upgrade one leg with avios is there’s award availability.

      • n_g says:

Good to know, wasn’t sure if this was possible. Looking via the app last night I couldn’t see a clear option to have different class options but will look on the site.

    • TGLoyalty says:

BA will sell you tickets with legs in different classes I’m not sure about AMEX travel tbh.

Personally I find buying with AMEX travel a pita if you could just book direct. Obviously worth it for £200 off £600

      • n_g says:

Yeah, feels like it’s not worth the hassle. Just checking. And if I book direct using my platinum am I right in thinking I don’t get avios and MR points? It’s one of the other?

        • Rob says:

You always get Avios on BA flights irrespective of where you book. Unlike hotels.

    • Alex W says:

Watch out buying on Amex travel as they sometimes sneakily book you a non-upgradeable fare.
