The first 250 sold out in about a minute on Friday but it will hopefully be a bit more laid back today.  We honestly have no idea how many tickets we could sell because they have always sold out so quickly in the past, but we have doubled our capacity this time.

Thank you to Marriott Bonvoy for their generous sponsorship of the event, which means that your first drink (wine, bottle of beer, soft drink) will be free.   Marriott Bonvoy will also be providing raffle prizes for some lucky guests.

We look forward to seeing you on 8th July, from 6pm to 9pm.  It should be fun.

OT IHG: Anybody else getting the impression that bonus points rates are disappearing? I need another one at a brand other than HIX to complete the current accelerate. No hotel I’m actually interested in staying has any so it looks like I’ll need to find a mattress run someplace.

    • David says:

Yep, I’m having the same struggle. I might just give up on the rest of my targets…

    • John says:

No, don’t you get the option to add bonus points to most flexible rates? It doesn’t have to be specifically called a bonus point package to count. It usually gives me the option to buy 1000, 2000 or 3000 but the price varies between countries. Maybe it’s not available in some countries.

    • Lady London says:

Always been much more available in US.

IHG is quite capable of giving you a bonus points night target at a time when there are literally none available in the UK.

    • BJ says:

Thanks for the feedback on this folks, interesting comments on markets and where site is accessed from. I’ll try again next week when I am back in UK to see if that makes a difference. I was not seeing those add 1000 points etc to flexible rates for any hotels I tried. I might try the app too as that may have different options, been avoiding that in hope I get download the app as a challenge at some point.

The bonus points purchase now appears on the final page of a booking.
The choice is either add breakfast or buy points. Can’t seem to do both now.

        I get 1000 every time I book.

I miight have seen some at Crowne Plaza un Europe, specifically Italy, earlier this year. Hôtel rate itself suite cheap. Thé bonus points, as you know, are not particularly a bargain.

  • Roger says:

OT – IHG second premier card.
Is there any official update on the same?
I am looking to apply Premium card, just thinking should I hold-off? I already have white card.

Also on EU booking (hotel website booking via IHG charged in EUR), is there any point in using IHG white card for points or shall I just rely on Curve / other fee free cards?

    • Peter K says:

The super premium card may never happen and if it did it’s highly unlikely to be soon.

Use a fee free card. The pitiful extra points on the white card (or black for that matter) are overwhelmed by the exchange fee.

    • Rob says:

This would be a year away at least I reckon.

      • Matt says:

Has there been any more news or rumours on any new BA card(s)?

    • John says:

The survey hasn’t even closed yet much less results analysed and presented to a decision maker…

    • Mark2 says:

I don’t think that BA has been singled out for shoddy reporting; it is universal.

    • Anna says:

IME BA are very mean with drinking water in long haul non-premium cabins. It’s always a good idea to buy bottled water after security or fill up bottles from a drinking fountain if there is one.

      • Shoestring says:

I thought you still get unlimited drinks in LH premium, she should have ordered a couple of tinnies instead 🙂

  • Shoestring says:

The tension mounts – fingers on buzzers, punters, get ready to pull that trigger! 🙂

    • Tom1 says:

      That was easy!
      See you there.

      • Graham Walsh says:

Indeed. Clicked and got tickets for myself and my brother. See you there

    • Anne says:

Worked for me at 12 on the dot via the app – exactly the same as the Christmas party to be fair. Having entirely forgotten to try on Friday thanks to being caught up in meetings I’m very pleased to have succeeded again.
Christmas party was an enjoyable few hours so looking forward to meeting some of you there again.

  • Billy says:

After the fiasco on friday, managed to get 2 tickets this time

  • JohnT says:

Wow – got my 2 via the app! See you there..

  • Harvey says:

    Wow! Suprized I got one.

  • Aliks says:

Looks like it sold out again within seconds, luckily I ran a ticket bot this time, and nabbed tickets for myself and wife.

    See y’all in July!!
