Radisson Hotels has launched its new Autumn promotion, covering stays at Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Park Inn, Park Plaza and other affiliated brands.
As you often find with Radisson Rewards promotion, there is a catch involved.
Here is the deal:
You must register via this page of the Radisson Hotels website
You receive double base points AND double elite status nights on each stay
Valid for stays between 26th September and 29th December
but …. you must book between 16th – 26th September. Existing bookings do NOT count.
The last point is the killer. A 10 day window to make bookings for a promotion which lasts for three months is not exactly member friendly.
Apart from that, however, this is a generous offer.
Radisson Rewards offers 20 base points per $1 spent, which under this offer is doubled to 40 base points per $1. I tend to value a Radisson Rewards point at around 0.33p, based on 70,000 points for a 5-star redemption in a big city. You can also easily justify 0.33p based on 15,000 points for a Park Inn in a regional UK town.
0.33p per point means that 40 base points per $1 is earning you a 16% rebate on your spending.
An elite member will earn their elite bonus on top – and if you have The Platinum Card from American Express then you will automatically have Radisson Rewards Gold status. You can also top up the points you earn from this offer via a transfer of American Express Membership Rewards points at the generous rate of 1:3.
Don’t forget to register before you book via this page of the Radisson website. Remember that bookings need to be made by 26th September.
How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (September 2024)
Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.
These cards earn Membership Rewards points:
- American Express Preferred Rewards Gold (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 20,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 60,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for your first year and also comes with four free airport lounge passes.
- The Platinum Card from American Express (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 40,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 120,000 Radisson Rewards points
- American Express Rewards credit card (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 10,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 30,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for life.
Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate. The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.
Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card. It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status. We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.
