Last call for 100% bonus buying Hilton points

Tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd, is your last day to get a 100% bonus when you purchase 10,000+ Hilton Honors points.

The Hilton ‘buy points’ page is here.

Regular readers of Head for Points will know that I tend to value Hilton points at 0.33p each.  You are paying 0.40p (0.5 cents) here so the maths in general doesn’t work.

HOWEVER ….. there ARE real bargains to be had at peak periods.  Conrad Maldives at 95,000 points per night, the new Waldorf Astoria Maldives at 120,000 points, the ‘all suite’ Conrad New York Downtown or Conrad New York Midtown at 95,000 points etc are places where you will usually save a lot of money by buying points instead of paying cash.  This is especially true if you have Hilton status and can get ‘5 nights for the points of 4’ on a longer stay.

If you are just buying a handful of points to top off your account, the price per point doesn’t matter anyway.  If you are a few thousand short of a redemption then this is a decent opportunity to buy them.

The annual cap has been doubled for this offer.  You can buy up to 320,000 points (160,000 + 100%) for $1,600.

You can buy points via this link.  The offer ends on 22nd October.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (February 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.

You can apply for either card here.

Holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.

We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here and you can apply here.

I think the KLM competition has expired although the webpage is still live… From the KLM competition T&Cs:
“Participants are allowed to enter the Giveaway as many times as they want, from Monday 14 October 2019. The Giveaway ends 23.00 Sunday 20 October 2019.”

    • Rob says:

Ahhhhhhhhhh. Sorry. This had been in the inbox for a few days waiting for a slot. Deleted!

  • memesweeper says:

It’s open to Great Britain residents only if NI is excluded.

  • Ian M says:

    OT – current Hilton promotion.

Does anyone know yet if part paying at checkout with a Hilton credit card is enough to trigger triple points for the total bill?

    • TGLoyalty says:

you get triple as long as your card is associated with your account, it should have said that you were getting triple when you registered.

If you are using someone else’s card then you probably won’t get triple as a Hilton card isn’t associated with your account

    • John says:

If any Visa card is on file in the system, you should get the triple points regardless of payment method, even if you prepaid with an MC or Amex – though in this case the front desk would need to manually change the card on file. You could even pay entirely in cash and it should work (untested).

  • Brian says:

Rob, you might want to add the ‘are’ in the bit ‘you a few thousand short’, since you obviously cut and paste it. Might as well avoid repeating the mistake.

    • Rob says:

Done. Wasn’t a total cut and paste – added in the new Conrad NYC Midtown link!

  • Tap says:

On a point of fact – Northern Ireland is in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – the giveaway word is “and”. Of course, it is not in Great Britain.

So, your are in breach of your own rules.

“One £5 statement credit per UK Card per merchant will be given up to 10 times.”

    New £50/card limit 🙁

    • JPa says:

Also looks like it might be one per account. I have only received one email for me and one for my wife and the have the card numbers in. One is The Platinum card and the other is my Green Amex. Which is really annoying as I will to cancel both of them shortly?

  • Graham Walsh says:

OT Anyone been to Moscow, decided to use up a 241 for a small break there. Going to use up a IHG night voucher too, anyone stayed at any IHG properties there? Guessing booking the IC with my free night

    • Ian M says:

I’ve stayed at the IC in Moscow. It’s a nice hotel without being spectacular.

      • Graham Walsh says:

Thanks Ian. Booked it and will book remaining days with hotels.com nights which is handy
