25% TopCashback to Avios points transfer bonus, and a 50% Asia Miles / Heathrow Rewards bonus

Cashback shopping site TopCashback is offering a 25% bonus if you convert your earnings to Avios.

Until 15th December, you will receive 1.25 Avios for every 1p of cashback you convert.

Be clear about the maths before you do this.  You are basically buying Avios at 0.8p each compared to taking the cash.

This IS a decent deal, and it would be hard to lose money on this basis given that HFP readers should be getting well over 1p per Avios when they redeem, but think it through.  Cash is flexible and not prone to sudden devaluation, Avios are not.

Heathrow Rewards offering a 50% bonus to Asia Miles

Talking of transfer bonuses, Heathrow Rewards is currently offering a 50% bonus when you transfer your points to Asia Miles.  This is the Cathay Pacific loyalty programme.

You will receive 375 Asia Miles for every 250 Heathrow Rewards points you transfer before 18th November.

Both standard and Premium members of Heathrow Rewards can take advantage of this offer.  Both tiers receive the same rate.

As 250 Heathrow Rewards points would otherwise get you a £2.50 Heathrow shopping voucher – if you wanted to turn your points into pseudo-cash – you are ‘paying’ 0.66p per Asia Mile which is a good deal.

Whilst this is obviously not of major interest to most HfP readers, what is more important is that Heathrow Rewards has clearly not given up on transfer bonuses.  This is the first one we have seen in 2019 and many people thought they had gone for good.

Hopefully we will see an Avios or Heathrow shopping voucher transfer bonus back before too long.
