Today, we are excited to launch a fantastic competition to win a luxury trip for two to Malaysia courtesy of Malaysia Airlines and One&Only Resorts.

It is a fantastic prize that will give the winner and a friend something special to look forward to in 2021.

Malaysia Airlines is generously offering a pair of business class flights to Malaysia from London Heathrow for one lucky reader. The winner will also be able to experience an ultra-luxury three-night, stay at the brand new One&Only resort at Desaru Coast.

One&Only Desaru Coast

The winner of this brilliant prize will fly to Johor International Airport via Kuala Lumpur, enabling them to be in close reach of One&Only Desaru Coast, but also giving them the opportunity to explore the southern region of Malaysia. There is plenty to see such as the Endau-Rompin National Park, home to the Malayan tiger, and the east coast islands of the Seribuat Archipelago, including picture-perfect Tioman.

Three nights in the newest jewel of the One&Only resorts crown, One&Only Desaru Coast, will give the lucky winner the chance to relax in total luxury. Take a look at the website here.

How to enter

We’ve kept it very straightforward.

You can have up three entries per person.

You get your first entry by filling out the Gleam app at the bottom of this article (or by clicking through to the Gleam website here if it doesn’t show on your device) and giving us your name, email address and (purely for validation purposes if you win) date of birth.  That’s it.

You will get an optional second entry to the competition if you sign up to Malaysia Airlines’ newsletter.  As well as doubling your chances of winning, signing up to the Malaysia Airlines email list means that you’ll be one of the first to hear about Malaysia Airlines’ latest sales and best available fares.  To get the second entry, simply tick the relevant box on the entry form to sign up to their newsletter.  You can unsubscribe at any time.

Finally, if you fancy tripling your chances, follow the instructions on the competition page to get an easy optional third entry if you visit the new Malaysia Airlines Instagram page especially for the UK.

Prize terms and conditions

There are some restrictions on how and where you can go.  See the terms and conditions (click on the link in the entry form) for the full list of rules – these are just the key parts and the official rules take precedence over this summary:

Entries are limited to one Gleam submission per person. The entrant MUST be one of the two travellers if they win.

The closing date for entries is 23.59 on 10 October 2020

The prize entitles the winner and one other person travelling together on return Business Class tickets with Malaysia Airlines from London Heathrow to Johor International Airport via Kuala Lumpur, inclusive of taxes and charges.

The prize is valid for travel between 11 October 2020 and 09 October 2021, with the exception of these blackout dates:

Travel dates past the specified redemption dates will be re-assessed if country travel restrictions are extended past this window

Booking must be made no later 31 January 2021. Seats and booking confirmation are subject to availability at the time of booking. Both passengers must travel together.

The accommodation at One&Only Desaru Coast will be subject to availability at time of booking, the resort will confirm when request is received.

Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the winner. It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.

Entry is open to aged 18 years and over and must be a UK resident

The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is available

The winners will be notified by email within 7 days of closing. If the prize is unclaimed by the initial winners drawn within fourteen days (14) days, no further draws will take place.

Might be worth keeping in mind that Malaysia’s borders are currently closed to tourists until the end of this year, and there’s talk of that being extended until Q2 2021… 😉

Good competition though (thanks team HfP and MH!) even if it turns out that September might be the only time the winner can travel 😉

Re all the concerns about date of birth – surely your finger could slip on the day/month inputs if you don’t want to give the exact date? 😉

  • mr_jetlag says:

All this drama about the DOB and no mention that they’re using a backwards, incoherent US date format? 😉

    • RussellH says:

I just entered using a European format. My dob does not work in the wrong format, being born in latter part of the month.
My brother + sister were able to take advantage of US date format many years ago, though, when asked for ID in a bar. They were 7 months under age, but because they were born on the 2nd of the month and it was April, the Americans read it as though they had been born in February.

      • Andrew MS says:

        That’s hilarious!

        • Michael Jennings says:

I have known people who have had the opposite problem in US bars for the same reason. They actually were over 21, but had birthday dates (in European format) like 11/4 or something like that, so the Americans thought they were younger than they were.

not eligible because we are currently in malaysia. much less cost if we win, we’d love a weekend at Desaru!

“Both Malaysia Airlines and One&Only will do their best to be flexible if on-going coronavirus restrictions make it impossible to meet the dates above.”

I had to chuckle at that, given MH’s utterly atrocious treatment of customers when they cancelled flights earlier this year but gave no option of a refund. At least my credit card company finally stepped up and did a chargeback, but I can quite imagine the fun the winner of this could run into especially if they were to get stuck in Malaysia…

  • Nick says:

Thanks HfP and Malaysia Airlines for a great competition! Fingers crossed.

  • Michael Jennings says:

That’s a really nice prize. But as to when we are able to go to Malaysia, who knows?

  • Sean Corrigan says:

    Great competition prize.

Flew MH to MEL last year via KL – Absolute pleasure on all 4 flights. Good luck everyone!

  • cinereus says:

Far too many entries already to make it worth entering.

    • Steve says:

      That’s the spirit!

    • Rob says:

I’m sure there is some logic in that somewhere but I’m struggling with it 🙂

Prize is worth £6,000-ish. Time required to enter – 1 minute. Let’s say odds of winning are 1 in 6,000 if you make 3 entries. You therefore value your time at more than £60 per hour ….
