Here are 10 new Hilton hotels you’ll want to visit in 2021

Hilton is, arguably, setting the pace amongst the hotel loyalty programmes at the moment:

  • until the year end, each stay earns double elite night credits and double base points if you register here
  • ALL your elite night credits from 2020 will carry over into 2021
  • in 2021, the qualification requirements have been halved, so top-tier Diamond Elite will only require 30 elite nights (and that INCLUDES the ones you carry over from 2020, and remember that you currently earn double credits)

If you could do 15 nights in December (reward nights and day rooms count) you would end the year with 30 elite nights. (You MUST register for this offer here.) You would hit Diamond Elite instantly on 1st January when your 30 elite nights carry over, and that status would be good for all of 2021, all of 2022 and until 31st March 2023.

Where can you use your Hilton points and status in 2021?

I asked Hilton to send me details of 10 new hotels opening in 2021 which would resonate with a UK audience. They chose well, and I think that most of you will find at least a couple of these properties tempting.

North Wales

Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia

Just 20km from this year’s I’m a Celebrity castle, located within Adventure Parc Snowdonia and offering unobstructed views of the mountains of North Wales, this new opening is a recommended for thrill-seekers and adventure lovers. It is launching in tandem with the opening of the park’s Wave Garden Spa. Opening March 2021. The website is here.

Cambridge

The Fellows House Cambridge, Curio Collection by Hilton

Opening next summer, The Fellows House, Curio Collection by Hilton, is just a short walk from the River Cam and Jesus Green and offers a good opportunity for a staycation. Everything from the hotel’s interiors to its name pays, they say, tasteful tribute to the great minds who have graced the city through the centuries. Filled with poetry, scientific drawings and famous quotations, the hotel claims to offer a place to stay, eat and drink in the style and culture of the city. The website is here.

EDIT: we reviewed The Fellows House Cambridge in August 2021 – click here.

The Faroe Islands

Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands

Located minutes from the breath-taking Svartafoss Waterfall, Nordic House, and the National Museum of the Faroe Islands, this hotel offers a weekend break with a difference. In line with the island’s sustainable growth strategy, the hotel is powered by energy left over from local industries and features water saving showers and intelligent lighting to further reduce its footprint. Flight details from the UK are discussed in this HfP article. The website is here.

Kyoto

LXR Hotels & Resorts, Roku Kyoto

Situated in an area home to some of the region’s most idyllic Japanese gardens, historic architecture and authentic tea houses, Roku Kyoto will be the first property in Asia under Hilton’s luxury LXR brand. Opening in the second half of 2021, the resort will offer a luxurious and refreshing stay with fine dining restaurants and spa treatments paired with natural hot springs.

Mango House Seychelles LXR Hilton render

The Seychelles

Mango House, Seychelles, LXR Hotels and Resorts

We covered this hotel briefly last week. Originally built as a family dwelling, Mango House Seychelles features 41 guest rooms in a remote and private location. Set to open in March 2021, the resort will give guests direct views of the Indian Ocean and is the perfect spot to explore Mahé’s sandy beaches, flora and fauna. The website is here.

Dubai

Hilton Dubai Palm

Penned to open simultaneously with the re-arranged World EXPO 2020 next October, this new Hilton Dubai Palm beach resort sits on the main trunk of Palm Jumeirah, overlooking the Arabian Gulf. I am at the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm in a couple of weeks so I will try to see exactly where this is located. The website is here.

Paris

Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero

Hilton is under-represented in Paris so this is a welcome addition, especially as I have been impressed by what I have seen of the new Canopy brand so far. Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero is set to opens its doors in March 2021, with the 123-room hotel featuring period architecture. Situated in the 16th arrondissement, it features a rooftop terrace and bar with sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower. The website is here.

Croatia

Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort and Spa

Nestled on the Adriatic coast, the new Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort & Spa is a sea-front wellness resort, with a spa, heath club and Olympic sized swimming pool. Guests have access to a private sandy beach and six on-site restaurants, including a beach bar and rooftop restaurant overlooking the Adriatic. Opening June 2021 but note that a seven night minimum stay is required until mid September. It looks like an excellent use of points at 60,000 points per night or €530+ in August. The website is here.

Cancun

Waldorf Astoria Cancun

Hilton is set to open two new properties in Quintana Roo in late 2021. The high end option is Waldorf Astoria Cancun, a 150-room resort offering waterfront views, mangrove-facing terraces and private balconies. There will also be an adjacent Hilton. There is no website yet.

Lisbon

The Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Emerald House Lisbon is apparently well placed for most of the city’s top attractions and the historical districts of Chiado and Baixa. The 67-room boutique hotel promises interiors styled to reflect the elegant neighbourhood. There is no website yet.

  • Steve says:

Garden Inn Snowdonia : would access to the pool at the Wave Garden Spa be complimentary for guests of HGI or likely an additional cost?

  • Chrisasaurus says:

Is that the worst photoshop job of the year or has the Eiffel Tower really been moved onto a stand like that?

    • mr_jetlag says:

ISTR that’s accurate based on my memory of the partially obscured view from Trocadero. The Photoshop job is taking out the 100’s of vendors and pickpockets there…

    • TGLoyalty says:

Isn’t that a building obscuring the base of the Eiffel Tower?

  • BJ says:

Sounds good but I would only want to visit nine of them. What about Canopy London, is it open already or opening this year?

    • Rob says:

Not yet open. Location not great either.

      • BJ says:

From what I read it is also a dog-friehdly hotel which will be a plus for some but not all. Last time I inadvertently stayed at one of those I moved room four times in an effort to get some peace.

  • Rob says:

Have tried twice to register for the Hilton status match and get nothing back. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? I attempted the status match a few years ago but never did it, however not even getting a rejection email.

    • Alex Sm says:

I got a status match from IHG to Hilton a few years ago but never used it so it was a bit of a loose cannon

  • Nick G says:

Any news on when Conrad in Spain is opening?

  • Anna says:

Can’t believe you haven’t included the new Hampton at Junction 6 of the M65 🤣

  • BuildTheWall says:

Can we have similar articles for Marriott and IHG please?

    • Rob says:

If they put them together we will publish them ….

      • Freddy says:

May aswell give Rhys the boot if the hotels are writing the articles now

        • Rob says:

It took longer to remove the marketing spiel from this article than it would have taken to write something original from scratch, I promise you.

  • Mr(s) Entitled says:

All I want for Christmas is a HH credit card.

    • MD says:

+1. It’s the one major gap in my armoury. Really regret not finding this website before they withdrew it.

    • Algor says:

There are 2 easy indirect options via Amex and Virgin, Hilton card is simply not going to happen any time soon.

      • Mr(s) Entitled says:

I move all my Amex point to Hilton but there are times I am without an Amex.

I am sure it will one day return, but nothing to indicate that will be any time soon. So much for the power of prayer.

      • KBuffett says:

Any thoughts on which is the better card for earning points – Virgin or HSBC WEMC?
