Hoxton Hotels is offering a special deal at two of their London properties. Visit for a meal and there is no need to head home.

If you spend £200 at the Seabird restaurant (Hoxton Southwark) or at the Rondo (Hoxton Holborn) they’ll throw in a free night. Hoxton Shoreditch does not appear to be taking part.

The Seabird Hoxton Southwark

The offer is valid on tables of two only, so you are effectively looking at spending £100 per person. This shouldn’t be too difficult if you throw in a couple of drinks.

The Seabird is a rooftop seafood restaurant (you can see the menu here) with views of the Shard (pictured below) whilst Rondo is modern British cooking (and slightly less pricey, so more drinks required).

Has plaza premium reopened at T5?

  • Anna says:

    “The Dilly”, seriously?!

    • Nick G says:

I was just thinking that…..I walked past it last month when we stayed at the Atheneum (great hotel if anyone wants to know) and thought it’s looking a bit tired.

      • mr_jetlag says:

Athenaeum is lovely, still have some stationery from our anniversary stay a decade ago.

    • TGLoyalty says:

It’s an awful name and it was a pretty crap property in a very good location / nice building.

Suspect the owners will stick some lipstick on a pig and call it “hip”. It really needs new owners and major investment

      • TGLoyalty says:

Rooms come with 32 inch TVs which were state of the art in 1998.

      • KBuffett says:

I agree with the name! I though they’ve had a recent refurb?

        • TGLoyalty says:

It was a pretty crap “refurb” refresh perhaps with a few licks of paint, replacing broken items and some new carpet.

      • KBuffett says:

Is the noise as bad at the W, which is not too far away.

        • TGLoyalty says:

Not sure but it’s not just the area but rather the poor windows and soundproofing or lack of that might be the issue at “The Dilly”

    • Michael C says:

I was just going to write the same!!
“I’m going to London on a luxurious weekend, spending a small fortune, at…The Dilly…”!!

    • Phil says:

Maybe they are being sponsored by Bud Light!!!

    • Lady London says:

Sounds close to the old Regent Palace in level, with that name. The Regent Palace being actually only about 300 meters away.

Now, if they had called it “Le Dilly” it would sound so much better. They should have thought of a more google-able name.

    https://thedillylondon.com/

Website is up and it seems to be closed until spring, which is nice except I had a booking for afternoon tea in December

  • Andy S says:

I assume Aspire lounges remains closed in airports in Tier 3 e.g. Bristol?

    • TGLoyalty says:

There was no requirement for airport lounges to close in the November lockdown and don’t believe that’s changed under the latest tiered system having scanned the SI

  • Rob Collins says:

‘The offer is valid on tables of two only, so you are effectively looking at spending £100 per person. This shouldn’t be too difficult if you throw in a couple of drinks!’

    How the other half live…

    • Greenpen says:

Yes, I feel sorry for them. I usually think in terms of £100 a course, bit more for some dishes, bit less for others, but it’s a good guide to a nice meal out.

    • Rhys says:

3 courses plus a couple of cocktails at Seabird and you’re over the line. This isn’t your local ASK Italian 🙂

    • Gormlesstraveller says:

@Rob Collins, shhh we need to keep the sponsors of the next HFP party believing that we are all big spenders!

  • Diydegsy says:

Will the lounges in Birmingham airport be opening as well?

    • Rhys says:

Given Birmingham is in tier 3 you may have to wait a little longer.

    • TGLoyalty says:

The longes didn’t have to close under the previous lockdown.

They can open if they have business. I know the emirates lounge was open yesterday as a friends used it when flying out.

  • Simon Barlow says:

I have a flight out of Gatwick north next week. Would be good if we have any stories of what the experience is like now things are opening up.

    • Alex M says:

Flew from Gatwick north yesterday- it was a ghost town – very pleasant experience!

  • Kurt says:

I remember staying in the Meridien Piccadilly years ago – and leaving after 1 night as it was so noisy from the street…
OT: With the Hilton 2x elite credits/double stay promotion until end of this year, how/where are the double counted stays reflected? I do not see the fact that they are doubled anywhere on my account? Thanks.

    • chef says:

did you enroll in the promotion?

      • Kurt says:

Yes, I did click on the link at the time – several times and it said: You are already registered in the end…..

        • blenz101 says:

When the stay posts to your account they just post as 2x per night. E.g. I stayed overnight last week at the Hampton by Hilton at LHR before a flight. On the App the number of nights stay has increased by two, points activity shows an extra line item “2020 Double Rewards Promotion – Double Points”.

The number of nights against the booking still shows as one night correctly reflecting the dates, but the credits do increase by 2.

          • Kurt says:

Thanks, basic maths failure…. the count does go up, it was just not stated clearly against each item, but as you say, Double Points is mentioned too. Thanks all.

    • George K says:

      I remember the noise – and we had a top-floor room…

Best part of the hotel was the Terrace, and maybe even the underground swimming pool. Rooms were nothing to write home about.
