IHG and IHG Rewards Club have revealed a new ‘visual identity’, as they are called these days.

Say goodbye to the orange:

and say hello to a more serious-looking black:

The word ‘Club’ has also disappeared.

This has been done to “make [IHG] more relevant and attractive to consumers – particularly a younger demographic of consumers”.

Here is a squarer version:

In particular, the word ‘Club’ was removed to “reflect the warm welcome that is available to all”.

These efforts to attract a younger clientele without actually adapting the offering to what younger people want are tiresome. Kinda feels like “Dad dancing”.

    • Anna says:

+1 – hotels are like avios, it’s very difficult to persuade people to change the way they arrange their travel. People who are used to booking . com and expedia tend not to book direct and will go generally with the best value option for their budget.

    • TGLoyalty says:

      What do young clientele want?

Not breakfast anyway no use when you get in at 5am

I much prefer the cocktail vouchers at nicer properties with a good bar.

They don’t get in at 5am these days – they’re up at 6 with their smashed avocados no?

        • kitten says:

smashed avocados on granary now. Or is that now sooo last year? 🙂

          the cocktail idea sounds good

    Gibraltar hotels:
    The Rock, iconic hotel
The Elliott, smart 4* with roof top pool, very central location, 10 minute walk from wharf side area for smart bars and restaurants.
Sunborn yacht hotel, 5*, positioned in the south west corner where all the chain restaurants are eg Wagamama, pizza express etc lively part of the island.
Holiday inn express, positioned off the main coastal road, no restaurants nearby.

It rings a ball. Is this Jury’s Inn?

I received my new IHG Rewards Club credit card yesterday with the old branding. Another confirmation that IHG and Creation do not talk to each other properly. Valid until 02/24
