Hilton loses two of our favourite hotels

I was doing some tidying up of broken links on HfP when I discovered that two of our favourite Hilton properties were throwing up 404 errors, meaning that their webpages had disappeared.

The first is Gran Hotel Montesol in Ibiza, reviewed here and pictured below, which was part of the Curio Collection.

Situated by the harbour, it has just 33 rooms and was the subject of a huge restoration before reopening in 2016. The hotel is still trading but without any mention of Hilton or Curio Collection.

The second is The Graham in Washington’s Georgetown, reviewed here. Hilton put me up here in June 2018 when I flew over to their HQ for some meetings.

Whilst nominally part of the Tapestry Collection of four-star independent hotels, so a notch below Curio, I thought it was fantastic. Imagine staying within 30 seconds walk of Marylebone High Street or Kings Road in London, with the added benefit of having the river just 90 seconds walk in the other direction.

The Graham remains open and I would stay here again in a shot if I returned to Washington.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (July 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.
