British Airways is running ‘British Airways’ High Life Live: For the Love of Travel‘ next Thursday night.

(Don’t worry, it doesn’t clash with the Virgin Atlantic charity quiz. The BA event is 5pm to 6pm and the Virgin quiz runs from 7pm to 8pm. You’ve got your whole Thursday night sorted next week.)

Whilst the image above looks like a new Scandi-noir crime drama, this is how BA describes the event:

“Hosted by funny woman Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake Off and QI), High Life Live is set to be a night of question-asking, (insert your tipple of choice here)-drinking and celebrating holidays on the horizon.

Joining Sandi will be an illustrious travel panel you won’t want to miss: including BBC world affairs editor John Simpson, pilot, TV presenter and podcast host Kellee Edwards, blind adventurer and Celebrity Masterchef star Amar Latif and top chef Toni Toivanen.

There will also be an introduction from British Airways Chief Executive Sean Doyle.

During this evening of entertainment, our virtual globetrotter guests will have the chance to grill our travel enthusiasts.

Be sure to pack your wanderlust – we look forward to seeing you there.”

The event is free and will run on Zoom.

You need to register in advance if you want to join, which you can do on Eventbrite here.

Whenever I see “The High Life”, I always think of Sir Cameron Bridie’s airline before I think of BA.

Any chance of Sandi and co doing a little song and dance routine at the start?

If you’re feeling kinda tedious, if life is seriously mediocre…
There’s one way to get the adrenalin flowing…
Just climb aboard a Boeing going up!

I prefer Pif Paf Pof myself

      Oh deary me!’

Whatever happend to that Alan Cumming chap?

  • Dave Young says:

I’m not sure what everyone else thinks, but to me (late 30’s) this shows how out of touch BA are with my generation.

Sandi Toksvig – I remember her from a poor comedy sketch when I was younger.
