Hilton has gained an additional hotel in Rome with the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti hotel – details here.

The hotel overlooks Piazza dell’Esquilino and is five minutes walk from Termini station. It is described as being walkable to the Colosseum, Roman Forums and Spanish Steps.

This article on a design website gives a good view of what you will find. It does look impressive. At first glance, it looks like a hotel that would have sat better within Hilton’s Curio brand than DoubleTree, which is typically used as a ‘conversion’ brand.

The DoubleTree Rome has 133 rooms across seven floors and includes a rooftop bar and panoramic terrace. Standard rooms are potentially a little bland but the junior suites:

Related to Sain/Nectar, did anyone else find they didn’t get the usual grocery offers on the app this week? When the Amex/Nectar link was first announced, there was a lot of consternation about whether Sainsburys would continue with the weekly offers. Granted it’s only been one week, but I really hope they haven’t pulled these offers permanently.

    • Mike says:

I got the bonus offers appear on the app mid week however on Friday when I did my normal shop the bonus points did not appear for the items that they should have done – I will contact nectar on Monday if they haven’t appeared as they normally appear same day. That will be my first interaction with Nectar customer services as I only switched to Sainsbury’s following the avios/nectar tie up

      • ant says:

same here. Shopped on Friday but only the standard points showing. Previously the offer points always showed so this is a first for me as well

    • lumma says:

Yeah, no offers on Friday, when I usually get them, and I got one offer for triple points when spending £50+.

They’ve been playing around with these offers a lot recently (most items just 10 points for a few weeks), so hoping it’s not the end.

    • ChrisC says:

my offers appeared as normal on Friday lunchtime.

A shop I did in the evening the bonus points appeared immediatly and the spend points posted yesterday as normal.

    • lumma says:

Cut and paste answer appearing on twitter from Nectar regarding this.

“Hi, don’t worry, our team is still working on getting the latest offers issued to all customers asap. Keep checking your account for updates. Craig”
