BOOK NOW: the first BA Euroflyer Gatwick routes for Winter 2022 are available

British Airways has just announced the first set of Winter routes that it will be flying from London Gatwick under the new BA Euroflyer banner.

Tickets to nine destinations were released at ba.com yesterday. If you want Avios seats then I recommend you book NOW.

Don’t rush to book cash tickets, as you may find that discounted prices don’t appear for a couple of days.

As a reminder, British Airways has decided to launch a new standalone airline to operate its short haul flights from London Gatwick. At BA Euroflyer, as it will be called, the flight crew and cabin crew will be on different contracts with poorer pay and conditions than their Heathrow counterparts.

To the customer, BA Euroflyer will look and feel exactly like a standard British Airways flight. There will be no difference in terms of baggage rules, seat selection, lounge access, food and drink etc.

Club Europe will be offered on the new Gatwick services.

I am assuming that the airline will be moving back to its home in the South Terminal although this has not been confirmed. ba.com does show Gatwick South as the operating terminal during the booking process.

Where can I fly on BA from Gatwick next Winter?

In the airline world, ‘Winter’ runs from the end of October to the end of March and the new routes are scheduled to run for the full season.

British Airways will be serving the following short haul routes from London Gatwick next Winter:

• Alicante – six per week
• Bordeaux – nine per week
• Faro – 10 per week
• Gran Canaria – three per week
• Lanzarote – six per week
• Malta – four per week
• Palma – three per week
• Seville – five per week
• Turin – 10 per week

There will be additional services on 30th October to the key Summer timetable destinations. This is to allow people to fly out on 23rd October for half term and come home on the 30th.

I am assuming that more routes will be added as time goes on. There is nothing here to cover the ski season, for example.
