Where should you credit your stays for April 2022?

Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.

Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.

You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.

More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.

Accor Live Limitless (Ibis, Novotel, Pullman, Sofitel, Raffles, Mercure etc)

Accor is running a generous Spring promotion, but it comes with lot of caveats, including a cap on what you can earn.

You will earn 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points (worth 6,000 Avios or a variable pile of other airline miles, or €120 of hotel stays) if you complete three x 2 night stays at Accor properties between 5th April and 12th June.

You must book your stays between now and 19th April.  Existing bookings do NOT count. These need to be cancelled and rebooked.  Only bookings made after you have registered (link here) are eligible.

You MUST register for this promotion via the offer website here.

The bonus is dropped into your Accor account in the form of 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points:

  • Your first 2-night stay comes with 500 bonus points
  • Your second 2-night stay comes with 2,500 bonus points
  • Your third 2-night stay comes with 3,000 bonus points

You can find full details of the offer, and the link to register, on the Accor website here.

Remember that bookings must be made by 19th April even though you do not need to stay until 12th June.

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton has a Spring offer called ‘Points Unlimited’.  You can register here.  Our full article is here.

You will earn 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay between now, once you have registered, and 1st May.

This promotion clearly works best for short, cheap stays.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, a £50 one-night stay would get you an impressive bonus points which I’d value at £8.33. You would also receive your base points and any elite bonus.

£8.33 of bonus points is less impressive on a week-long stay at a Waldorf-Astoria costing £2,500, of course …..

You need to register in advance of your stay via the Hilton website here.  Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

The Hilton booking page is here.

Current Marriott Bonvoy promotions

Marriott Bonvoy (Renaissance, The Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Westin, W, Aloft, St Regis, Luxury Collection, Moxy etc)

Between 8th February and 4th May, you will earn 1,000 bonus points per NIGHT on every cash stay at a Marriott hotel. I value a Bonvoy point at 0.5p so this is equivalent to a £5.00 bonus per night.  It is clearly a better deal on cheap one-night stays than expensive week-long holidays.

Perhaps more importantly, you will also receive double elite night credits. Each night you stay counts as two nights towards elite status.

Our full article is here. Registration closes early, on 20th April.

The home page for bookings is here.

world of hyatt narrow

Hyatt (Andaz, Alila, Thompson, Unbound Collection, Miraval etc)

Hyatt is offering a fixed bonus, like Hilton, which works better on shorter stays.

You will receive 2,022 bonus points for every two nights you stay by 20th April. Given our 1.1p valuation of Hyatt points, you’d be getting a return of £11 per night.

Importantly, the nights do not need to be consecutive or at the same hotel.

Our full article on the ‘Bonus Journeys’ promotion is here.

Unfortunately, registration for this offer is now closed. If you haven’t already signed up, it’s too late.

And finally …..

If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.

Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso.  Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked over £1.3 million of rooms so far.

  • Dubious says:

Unfortunately the Hilton Buy Point offer only seems to be offering me an 80% bonus, rather than 100%. I guess everyone’s targetted a bit differently.

  • Parky says:

I wouldn’t worry what % bonus you were offered as the Hilton Buy Points website (powered by Points) just throws error messages and won’t let you buy them anyway.

    • Jill ( Kinkell) says:

I just bought 40k (80k) the other day to top up my account to trade for 5/4 night booking.

  • Andrew J says:

Odd that IHG haven’t announced a new promotion – the first time in years that there’s nothing on to boost points. Perhaps they are waiting for the imminent rewards programme relaunch and will do something then.

    • Scott says:

      They’ve started the
“Earn up to 50k points for 20 nights” by doing the following:
“stay 2 nights, get 4k bonus points”,
“stay 4 nights, 7k bonus points” etc.

from today? until some time in May.
Might be to selected people, but I got it as did others.

    • Matt says:

IHG Step Up to Rewards starts today. It seems to be targeted though. I’ve got earn up to 50,000 points. 2 nights – 4k points, 4 nights – 7k points, 6 nights 10k points, 10 nights 20k points, 20 nights 50k points.

    • Andrew J says:

Ah, nothing on my account so I guess I’m not targeted. Unusual for IHG to not do a blanket campaign. Hopefully one along soon.

      • ChrisC says:

        Yes targeted.

Have seen people on here and flyer talk comment that they tried to register – after others posted the link – but were rejected with a message that it was a targeted offer.

  • Neil says:

For some reason I am told that I am not eligible for the Marriott promo when I click through your link, and it also doesn’t show ‘manually’ in my Bonvoy account.

  • SammyJ says:

IHG also have the free second room on their ‘grandparents’ offer at selected hotels in the UK and Europe for the next couple of months – specifies ‘grandparents or other family members’ in the T&Cs.

    • Rob says:

This a good deal – we will get to it next week.

    • Ryan Gill says:

Thanks for flagging this Sammy. It is a good offer as Rob says. I would have thought it would have been covered by Hfp.

  • Neil says:

On registering for the Marriott points and credits deal I am told there is an error.. odd. Have reset and will try again later

  • Nick says:

It’s just over 8 weeks since a qualifying stay in a Hilton (Canopy, London City) after I’d previously registered for their spring promotion, but no 2,500 point bonus is obviously showing in the Points Activity section of my account on their App – just Base points and Total points.
How do I check the bonus has tracked?

    • John says:

      Use the website

      • Nick says:

Thanks John – tried this, but no more illuminating than the App unless I’m missing something!
The Points Activity for my stay (Feb. 3rd) shows Base Points (1711) and Total Points (6922) but no breakdown or explanation, nor any reference to the spring “Points Unlimited” offer.

        • martin says:

You need to view the main hilton website, account, stays and click on the plus to see all points earned

          • Nick says:

Thanks Martin – can see now that I did indeed get the bonus points!
