UPDATE – MAY 2022: This article is now out of date, but don’t worry. We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above. Thank you.
As travel begins to restart, we have brought back our regular round-up of the best hotel promotions currently running.
All of the information in this article can also be found on our ‘Hotel Offers’ page which contains details of all of the current offers, together with links to our major articles on each hotel scheme. However, a positive response from readers – especially our 15,000 email subscribers – means we run this monthly article as a handy summary.
Here are quick summaries and links to the registration pages you need for each offer – do it before you forget:
Accor Live Limitless
Accor Live Limitless is offering 6,000 bonus points if you complete three 2-night stays by 12th June. Bookings must be made by 19th April and existing bookings made before registration do not count.
Hilton Honors is offering 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay between 1st January and 1st May
Marriott Bonvoy is offering 1,000 bonus points per night and double elite night credits on all stays between 8th February and 4th May
World of Hyatt
World of Hyatt is offering 2,022 bonus points for every two nights you stay between 15th January and 20th April. Your nights do not need to be consecutive. Registration closed on 15th March, unfortunately.
IHG Rewards and Radisson Rewards are not currently running a global promotion.
There are also ‘buy points’ bonuses running with Hilton and, for this weekend only, Marriott:
Hilton Honors is offering a 100% bonus when you buy points by 6th May. The purchase limit is also doubled to 320,000 points including bonus.
Marriott Bonvoy is offering up to a 50% bonus when you buy 2,000+ points by 3rd April
Where should you credit your stays for April 2022?
Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.
Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.
You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.
More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.
Accor Live Limitless (Ibis, Novotel, Pullman, Sofitel, Raffles, Mercure etc)
Accor is running a generous Spring promotion, but it comes with lot of caveats, including a cap on what you can earn.
You will earn 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points (worth 6,000 Avios or a variable pile of other airline miles, or €120 of hotel stays) if you complete three x 2 night stays at Accor properties between 5th April and 12th June.
You must book your stays between now and 19th April. Existing bookings do NOT count. These need to be cancelled and rebooked. Only bookings made after you have registered (link here) are eligible.
You MUST register for this promotion via the offer website here.
The bonus is dropped into your Accor account in the form of 6,000 Accor Live Limitless points:
- Your first 2-night stay comes with 500 bonus points
- Your second 2-night stay comes with 2,500 bonus points
- Your third 2-night stay comes with 3,000 bonus points
You can find full details of the offer, and the link to register, on the Accor website here.
Remember that bookings must be made by 19th April even though you do not need to stay until 12th June.
Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)
You will earn 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay between now, once you have registered, and 1st May.
This promotion clearly works best for short, cheap stays.
Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, a £50 one-night stay would get you an impressive bonus points which I’d value at £8.33. You would also receive your base points and any elite bonus.
£8.33 of bonus points is less impressive on a week-long stay at a Waldorf-Astoria costing £2,500, of course …..
You need to register in advance of your stay via the Hilton website here. Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.
The Hilton booking page is here.
Marriott Bonvoy (Renaissance, The Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Westin, W, Aloft, St Regis, Luxury Collection, Moxy etc)
Between 8th February and 4th May, you will earn 1,000 bonus points per NIGHT on every cash stay at a Marriott hotel. I value a Bonvoy point at 0.5p so this is equivalent to a £5.00 bonus per night. It is clearly a better deal on cheap one-night stays than expensive week-long holidays.
Perhaps more importantly, you will also receive double elite night credits. Each night you stay counts as two nights towards elite status.
Our full article is here. Registration closes early, on 20th April.
The home page for bookings is here.
Hyatt (Andaz, Alila, Thompson, Unbound Collection, Miraval etc)
Hyatt is offering a fixed bonus, like Hilton, which works better on shorter stays.
You will receive 2,022 bonus points for every two nights you stay by 20th April. Given our 1.1p valuation of Hyatt points, you’d be getting a return of £11 per night.
Importantly, the nights do not need to be consecutive or at the same hotel.
Unfortunately, registration for this offer is now closed. If you haven’t already signed up, it’s too late.
And finally …..
If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.
Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso. Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked over £1.3 million of rooms so far.
